Are there any good places in DCA or DL to eat for a person that has had gastric bypass? thanks 😊
Stick with the kid meals, the little bits should full up the little tummy and most of them are healthy balanced - GoofyMom77

Since I'm not familiar with what that entails, maybe you could tell us what restrictions/issues you have so we can recommend. I honestly thought gastric just reduced the amount of food you can eat. - Sarafina

Weird new things can happen. Lactose intolerance. Higher sensitivity to sugar. One can drink a small glass of wine and get totally ripped. Best to eat healthy and small portions so kids meals are ideal. - mightymike10 271.6 #813 3:11PM
Thanks MyPark, now I know it's more than just portion size. - Sarafina 398.8 #336 3:21PM
The intake is one thing one needs to address but also the kinds of food are weird too. Dense meats are hard to digest as well as foods that just don't agree you all of a sudden. Rule of thumb is three bites of protein to one bite of veggies. And you really do become a cheap drunk. It does straight to your head. - splashphotoCM 880.9 #101 3:22PM
Also, if you do not chew your food well it gets stuck in the restricted tube from throat to new stomach. Everything backs up and out it comes. Same as waiting between bites, as well as not drinking 15 minutes before and 30 minutes after especially for the first 6 months. - splashphotoCM 880.9 #101 3:27PM
Appetizers from carthay circle....small portions but good quality. Bengal barbucue has 3oz meat skewers that won't break the bank! - RobinandSteve

I had gastric bypass and am still down 164 lbs. I almost always eat kids meals throughout both parks or split a meal with my wife. How far out are you from your surgery? - splashphotoCM

Appetizers are also something I order depending on the eatery. - splashphotoCM 880.9 #101 3:17PM

The chicken skewer at Paradise Garden Grill in DCA. High protein, no sugar, low fat. Skip the rice and have them double up on the cucumber salad. - JustCantWait
