A couple of weeks ago I posted a picture of this Mickey dish from DL. It didn't seem big enough for a family of seven, but I liked it so much that I asked MWers for ideas of things to make in this. So many people posted so many great ideas that I got inspired and spent my "mad money" on it. Someone wondered if a cake mix would fit, so I tried. To my surprise it accommodated a vanilla cake mix from Trader Joes! (Don't think it would quite for Betty C, but I will try). I love it, and it matches my kitchen. Thought I would share!
That's cool! Did it bake evenly? I would be afraid the ears would bake faster than the head. - PrincessKristin

Yes, it actually did bake evenly. I wondered if it would too! It did take about 5 minutes longer, but the texture remained the same as with my regular cake pan! My husband got one mouse ear, and I rewarded one of my kids for being especially good with the other! 🍰 - 7mouskedoodles 161.1 #2138 10:08PM

It was very good, but I don't know how it compares to a churro! Nobody fainted at my house, so maybe that is not a good sign! 😉 - 7mouskedoodles 161.1 #2138 10:35PM
haha. I thought the TJs vanilla cake tasted like cornbread :D The chocolate one is very good - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint 1781.4 #42 10:38PM
Yes, we like the chocolate one too. When I make it I dump a whole bag of chocolate chips in the batter , it's super yummy . (If you are a chocoholic !) - 7mouskedoodles 161.1 #2138 10:42PM
oh dear. that DOES sound tasty. I think the chocolate one tastes the least cake mix-ish of any that I have ever tasted - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint 1781.4 #42 10:44PM
I agree. What do you think about the crumb cake? I love that one! - 7mouskedoodles 161.1 #2138 10:49PM
ooh. I have not tried it *puts on TJs shopping list* - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint 1781.4 #42 10:53PM
Yes, it's very good. We like the crispy crust on top method.(the box shows two ways to make it) hmmm, it might even taste churroey! The spice in the mix will even make your house smell like the gingerbread room of the HM! Hope you enjoy! - 7mouskedoodles 161.1 #2138 10:58PM
