I know I'm more of a lurker than a poster so I apologize for that. It seems I can only post quickly when I have questions as my 2 little ones keep me running! With that said, I'd like some advice on what days we should plan for Disneyland around the holidays. I did ask a few weeks ago but now we are planning for 2 days instead of 1 and they don't have to be consecutive. We are flying in on the 24th and leaving on Jan 8th. I'm thinking Christmas week is defintely out. I might plan for the 7th but not sure with our flight the next day. Suggestions on days? we'd like to avoid crowds as much as possible. I thank you so much in advance!
Well, the downside to going after Christmas week, is *most* of the Holiday decorations will come down after New Year's Day. Which means you will not be able to see NBC Haunted Mansion and possibly no lighted castle. - Alicewhoareyou

Last year Christmas was up until the 7th or so - MarshaMouse 2936.4 #16 11:44AM

Hmmm looking back last year, it felt that near New Years and week after New Years seemed more crowded than before holidays. I guess people are done shopping and enjoying being with family more. If I have to pick a day or two it would be 24, last year crowds weren't bad at all. And before the new year but really just keep in mind it'll be busy but go as early as possible to avoid crowds - MarshaMouse

Wish we could go that day, we will be flying all day though :( - disneymommy0910 233.9 #1211 4:15PM
If your looking to go for the enjoyment of going, a busy Disneyland is better than a trip with no visit to Disneyland at all. I say pick a day Chrismas week or near New Years day so you get the full effect of the holidays at the parks. - Donaldfan_532

If your there until the 8th I like would go between the 3-6, most of the Christmas stuff will still be up and the crowds will be a wile lot less between the 20th to the 2nd! Have fun! - akpoppins

Not true. I went Jan 3-5 and it was crowded. The Rose Bowl is usually on NYD and the families of the two teams pretty much invade the parks the week of the game. This year everywhere we went all insane were Oregon Ducks and Wisconsin Badgers shirts, jackets and hats. Most of the OL for Michigan State and their families were at the parks too. - KermitFan13 411.1 #323 4:45PM
A few years back I went on the 23rd or so and we zipped through, even snagging the blue bayou for lunch with no wait. It's the busiest shopping day of the year, everyone's at the mall. - bluefairy
