I work with a guy who is constantly harassing me about my and my families love of Disneyland. He can't image how my kids could possibly continually want to come back and he think I am just wasting money on Corporate America, AKA... Disney.
My wife and I came before we had kids and we've been back 4 times since we have had our kids. 5 times in 10 years for people from the far north is a lot when a trip cost thousands and thousands of dollars. we have never complained about spending the money. We love Disneyland.
What people don't realize is that Disney is a part of my families life. It is ingrained in our being. If you got Disney in your blood, no one can change you, Ever!

I'll never understand why DL is so controversial. We get comments all the time, but it's no one's business how I spend my leisure time. I'd never make fun of someone for buying a jet ski or a new bike or traveling to Hawaii or Europe! For some reason, people feel the need to pipe up about DL, though. It's quite odd. I've learned to just ignore it, but it bothered me at first because it came from my family :( - Spoonful_O_Sugar

I'll be honest, I did not expect to enjoy Disney the way I did. The first time I went, I was expecting to be blown away by the prices and lack of thrill-rides. Instead, I was floored by the magic that lurked around every corner. For me, it made me remember my carefree childhood when I believed that dreams not only could come true, but that they do. But let's face it, not everybody can get past the price tag, and of those even fewer enjoy being transported to a more simplistic time. It's not for everybody. Thanks all. I don't harass people that want to sit day in and day out on a beach and get drunk for a week about their choice in holidays. We like to be busy and you can't have a busier holiday than a Disney Holiday!

I used to be like that..... Part of it comes from an honest desire to put corporate money to work for the less fortunate. I will leave politics out of this, HOWEVER dude shouldn't be knocking your FAMILY and your happy outlet. Even if I have my opinions, they are just that... Opinions. Since having my daughter i have learned to lighten up, enjoy the innocent parts of life, and re-embrace magic. Hope your coworker can too. It is nicer on this side:) - templeclan

That guy needs to take a chill pill ! You know what it's your money you can spend it as you like ! It's the best thing to have family memories that live on through you and your family !! I don't mind soending on that as that guy said "wasteing money " on my family who I know will enjoy every bit of that hard earn working money that my hubby has worked his lil tush off . I have tons of awsome memories w/ my parents when we went every summer when we were kids ! It was the best feeling and still is till this day!! So whatever to that dude and awsome for you 👍.. We live in nor cal and try to go 3-4 times a year but our friends and family know how much we live it. We don't go on cruises or fly to far away places. We go to DL and never feel bad about spending 'our' money the way we want. - Pinup Princess
