Hey MW'ers! Will anyone be at the resort this Friday? It would be awesome to get some pictures of Shuttle Endeavour flying over The Park! http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2012/09/endeavour-los-angeles-flyover-disneyland-getty-shuttle.html
I sure hope there are some MouseWaiters there to get some awesome pics with the parks as a backdrop - Dave

I hope so too. I will be stuck at work that day, unfortunately. I'm going to rely on you guys for great, live, DLR pics! :) - LifeyLand 42.2 #3929 3:53PM
I will be there taking photos. - splashphotoCM 880.9 #101 12:00PM
I have a spot staked out to catch it up here in NorCal with a large telephoto lens... might not get it with any landmarks in the shot but if I get a clean shot of Endeavor herself I will post to the hub! - kilteddispatcher

Just throwing this out there family but it sounds like alot of us are planning on this historic event at the parks. So as not to spam up the lounge on a weekend with all the Halloween & NBC going on, I think posting our pix in the HUB is a better place. Maybe Admin could choose the best ones to put in the lounge to share. - splashphotoCM

Don't forget it's red shirt Friday everyone. Show your support for our troops. - splashphotoCM 880.9 #101 1:30PM
Thanks we will wear RED. - MeridasHair 319.7 #523 2:00PM
I will be there! - DisneyDork95

Aha! I shall hitch a ride from the Golden Gate bridge and they can drop me off in the park. ;) - Darlingwendi

This is going to be soo awesome!!! I might need to make a special trip!! My cousin transported the rocket boosters for the Endeavour from Florida to Edwards Air Force base a couple of weeks ago and will be transporting them to the Science Center soon too!! - caramiapoohAKAface

That is really cool! I was able to see the Endeavour inside the VAB last year during the launch of Curiosity rover in Florida. I wish I could make it there to see her fly over the resort! - LifeyLand 42.2 #3929 5:56PM
Don't remind me.. I have to work๐ - ScubaSteve028

Your typing looks very sick. You may need to call out tomorrow. - splashphotoCM 880.9 #101 1:27PM
Hey.. My husband and I are planning to go see it. We were thinking maybe the top of Mickey & Friends? It's kind of funny because I will have to miss my photography class to go take pictures of it. Totally worth it. - CMJenKWorth
122.9 #2684 3:28AM
If I had the opportunity to go, I would take pictures of it by Tomorrowland or the castle, if Endeavour took that route. - LifeyLand 42.2 #3929 6:19AM
What an amazing experience so many people will be apart of. Can't wait to see some pictures of this hopefully. - Tinkerbellmom4

Maybe Pizza Port with the rocket in the pic? From Inoventions 2nd floor outside. That's what I was going to scope out. I have a meeting at work though, so couldn't get the day off. - Tom

Or Astro Orbitor. That might be a better bet since you will have more angle possibilities. - Tom 3872.8 #7 6:42AM
Castle would be cool too! Who will get the best one? - Tom 3872.8 #7 6:43AM
I plan on being in a location with the fewest trees and shortest buildings lol actually I was thinking the Hub or Town Square - KissDclown 1088.1 #77 6:50AM
I wonder if it will be noticeable from DCA. A view from CarsLand or Buena Vista Street would be nice. Tower of Terror would be a nice background too. - LifeyLand 42.2 #3929 9:56AM
I live in HB and thought that since they will be flying over HB the pier would be a great place but if cloudy not a good spot. I'm gong to plant myself in the Esplanade so I can shoot either park with fewer obstructions. - splashphotoCM 880.9 #101 12:05PM
How exciting. I would try for Space Mountain, or maybe Soarin - MelodyMouse

I am planning on being there too. Love the ideas for the best spot! I'm just debating on if we should take the kids or not...I don't want them to miss school but this is such a great opportunity... - piktink

I think Admin should have a contest for best picture for #SpotTheShuttle! This is such a rare opportunity for the resort. - LifeyLand 42.2 #3929 9:58AM
Pull them out! Learning happens outside of school too. - MeridasHair 319.7 #523 11:42AM
I want to go ..... I'm just hoping its not to crazy there lol - Pixielynn

Picking the best spot is kinda nerve racking. How low will it be flying? Will it just fly over once, and what path? I clicked the link, but its just blank for me... - Sweet_Irish_Cream
2570.1 #22 10:04AM
Someone posted it will be 1500 ft but i think that will be really low. - RickChavez 2186.7 #30 10:08AM
Ya, that does sound really low. That would be cool though. - Sweet_Irish_Cream 2570.1 #22 10:09AM
From the path I saw I think it flying in from the north. - RickChavez 2186.7 #30 10:10AM
Do you think straight down the middle of both parks? Or just cutting DL in half? I keep missing things, so I'm trying to have a good game plan. I guess it's time to start googling some info. ๐ - Sweet_Irish_Cream 2570.1 #22 10:15AM
I googled and looks like 1500ft is correct. Couldn't find a route map. Let me know if you find anything. - RickChavez 2186.7 #30 10:19AM
NASA themselves have said the fly covers will be at around 1509 feet. - shadowgamer 1954.3 #37 11:09AM
Ok I'm a NASA nut. It will be at 1500 feet. That is low enough to see pilots and wave at them. Keep fingers crossed the weather cooperates. You will be able to see it for miles. If your kids are in school pull them out. If they are in the flight path tell their teachers to take them outside to watch. - MeridasHair 319.7 #523 11:33AM
Rick go to NASA news site. - MeridasHair 319.7 #523 11:34AM
Wow, this is making me so excited! - SleepyTortuga 287.2 #685 12:06PM
I cant wait to see this Fly! Ive seen this in person a few times and also saw it launch into space in FL. One of the perks of being in the aerospace business. Our company built the Fuel tanks that fall in space after it reaches orbit. I cant wait to visit it in the science center! - PrinceTeaJack
786.3 #120 11:25AM
I have seen it before too. One of the most memorable things I have seen. We should have a Science Center Meetup. - MeridasHair 319.7 #523 11:45AM
Sounds like a great job with cool perks Tea! - Tealtownfan 693.3 #144 12:06PM
I can't wait either! Saw Endeavour up close last year in FL, can't wait to see her in her new home! - LifeyLand 42.2 #3929 12:21PM
All ready have plans to go see it in the middle of the night when its being transferred to the Science Center!! If I had to go see the large rock to LACMA, I definitely want to see this being moved! - Willierose 1190.6 #68 12:21PM
I can't get the article to load for me, but is there an estimated time when it's supposed to happen? I will be in the parks tomorrow and have got to see it!! - ashmonster
31.7 #4296 12:26PM
I read it's between 10-11am. - LifeyLand 42.2 #3929 12:30PM
I'll be there and I'm taking Lixxy's dsl with the long lens. ;) - JenAnneWho
300.7 #610 12:28PM
Was just gonna ask the same thing! - jazzydarling
37.6 #4076 12:30PM
It has been estimated that flyover would be between 10:30 and 11 am. That time window may be slightly delayed due to some weather issues up north according to ABC7. - Willierose
1190.6 #68 1:01PM
For those who can't make it to the park to see it in person, don't forget that we have the Mattercam Land. - BaseballMickey_CM
