So I'm starting to run out of ideas to surprise our kids for our up coming trip to DLR ! It's been 2 years since our last visit ! But last time I told them we were going to San Diego to visit family 😉 ! Some how we "made" the "wrong" turn lol ended up in Anaheim . So now I need a excuse for this year! Trip is in 15 days !

Kids are smart. If you plan to continue this fun tradition you'll have to get more clever and make it as believable as you can... Like have the kids talk to family members in SD and tell them about all the "plans" for the trip. But realistically, they will eventually just figure it out. Have a Magical time. - MyPark

My parents could never fool me. We'd leave really early so I'd sleep in the car but once I woke up and saw the farmland on the 5 I knew where we were going. It was still fun though and I was still excited. ☺ - cesium55

We told ours that we had to go visit an aunt in a nursing home. That they had to be very quiet and still while visiting. Worked for us (we were taking them to Kings Island). They still remember that vacation. - Sugarbuzz

I used to tell my daughter different places every time we went. Usually told her we were visiting Gramma and Poppy, but then stop at DL and met them there. I used Knott's, Universal, Hollywood at different times. Got to where no matter what I said, she knew we would hit DL no matter what! - Gia
