I am testing a watermark feature on the pictures posted to the Lounge. Please remember, only post pictures that you own in the Lounge, unless you have permission from the owner or if you are creating an original collage for a news or history piece. The pictures you are uploading do not permanently contain the watermark. In your Lounge Photostream, which archives all of your images, your pictures are not watermarked. Due to unauthorized use of our pictures on the Internet, it has become necessary to watermark them. Thanks!
We are trying to fix the over-sized watermarks, some are too big due to the format of the original picture. - Admin

Great idea! For those of you looking for your photo stream: go to your Mousetopia page, click on albums, and you'll find them there. - Gia

may be alone on this but i am not liking this "upgrade". Not too sure if I wanna post live pictures I take with a MW watermark on them... - CupcakeJedi

While I understand where you're coming from with not liking the watermark on your personal photos, I don't really see the issue with it in regards to any Disney Resort photos. First off, you still retain the originals without the watermark. Second, if it ever came down to it and the photos were ever used without your permission, you would simply have to show that you own your account on here, you took the picture and then file a cease and desist to whoever is using it without permission. Finally, Disney policy is that any photos taken on their property can not be used for sales, so even if someone tried to sell your photos for a profit, they can't legally in multiple ways. - shadowgamer 1954.3 #37 11:54AM
I haven't had it happen here, but I have had my pics used without permission in other forums. Give credit where credit is due! Thanks Admin! - aprilinjune4

Nice idea. What about taking down the opacity of the watermark? That way it's there, but it won't stand out too much. Just a thought - wickedale

This I would like. I understand the need, but hate the distraction from the shot. - Evilstitch 328.3 #482 6:16AM
I like this idea as well. It's very easy for people to crop out watermarks, especially if they're located at the bottom or top of a photo. - Jacqueline 546.7 #204 9:21AM
Actually MW uses PHP script that just adds an temporary watermark layer which is non-destructive. If you're using FireFox, then right-click the image, select "Copy Image Location," and paste to a new tab of window, erase the PHP script applied to the image and voila - clean image. - onezerohero 147.2 #2324 10:59AM
@onezerohero WELLLLP, I knew about that.. but didn't wanna put it out there on how to get rid of the watermark. LOL, shhhh! No lumpia for you! - Jacqueline 546.7 #204 11:23PM
Awesome idea. I remember my Christian Bale pic was all over the internet. Thanks for the added features. - RickChavez

Great idea admin. This will help protect the great pictures here in the lounge. Plus it's a subtle watermark in the corner. Doesn't take away from the awesomeness of the picture. 👍👍👍 - Waites4DodgerEars

At first I had trepidation about this, because I am guilty of using others pics, but only for personal use. So many of you take such great pictures, that I would grab them to use on my desktop, our as wallpaper, and for that, I thank you all.
But knowing admin, the WM for MW will be done in such a manner as to not obstruct your artistry. So for all of our protection, mark on! - SorcererBHhaha

you can always DM someone for a watermark free version, I'm sure they won't mind if you explain why you want to use it. - Sarafina 398.5 #335 11:21AM
Sarafina, I usually let the photographer know that I appreciate their work and thank them. The WM isn't going to bother my wallpaper or desktop. But thanks for the idea.:-) - SorcererBHhaha 408.5 #317 2:18PM
That works too! Always nice to hear compliments on someone's photos. :) - Sarafina 398.5 #335 4:02PM
I totally understand the need to watermark the photos. - ScooterMike
