On June 20 earlier this summer, my 2 year old daughter had very serious open heart surgery. In celebration that she has now fully recovered and been cleared by her surgical team and cardiologist, my wife and I, along with our 7 year old son, are taking her to Disneyland for the 1st time in two weeks. We arrive Tue Sep 18 and are there for 5 days in the parks. Hope to see many of you MWers there!!! We have never felt happier and can't wait to be at the happiest place on earth.

Again, I can't thank you all enough for your kind messages. My daughter Delilah essentially had a hole in her heart that was bigger than a quarter. We found at when she was born and our goal was to make it to age two or three before surgery. Luckily, we were able to wait and they were able to patch the hole with her own pericardium. She was in the hospital for a week and is now fully healed. Children are so resilient and inspiring. I feel so blessed and lucky to live in a time when modern medicine can do so much, fitting that I'm an RN I guess. :) - zacwoodruff

It is amazing how fast children bounce back from surgeries like this. My mom had open heart surgery about 10 years ago and is doing great as well. But it is not a fun surgery for the person having it or the people waiting in waiting room worst wait ever!!! So you and your family deserve this trip and I hope you have fun!
