We decided that we won't be going to the Halloween party for our fifth anniversary afterall, since the job hunt has been kapoot. So to cheer myself up, I've decided to cook dl treats all weekend. This was my attempt at fried pickles, and I think they were delicious! Any other suggestions/recipes I should try?

Aww, praying you get the job you need. I finally started working last week after a 6 month period of being unemployed. I am working at less than half of what I was paid previously, but God knows my needs. I say you make Mickey caramel apples, beignets, soup in a bread bowl, and monte cristos and have a blast doing it. Keep your chin up! This too shall pass. π - joyfulmomma

make something pumpkin-y. Costco had a great deal on pumpkin mix stuff. I can make pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin bread, and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. so tasty! Sorry you couldn't go :( - GoofyMom77

Sorry you aren't going, we decided not to go this year too :(. Are you in the Orange County area? There are a bunch of family friendly (cheap) Halloween events that we go to every year. They may not be Disneyland but are still tons of fun! Let me know if you would like the names. Hope you can cheer yourself up! - kss4tink

So sorry that plans didn't work out for you. Disneyland will still be there waiting for you. You already have your costumes ready for next time! An idea is to make soup in a bread bowl. We made gumbo in bread bowls, mint julep, beignets when we were blocked out for the summer!Vons sells the bread for $1 a piece!π - 7mouskedoodles
