Has anyone done any in-room celebrations at DLH? I was thinking of having them put some balloons in the room for my daughter's bday. Is it worth it?
If you do it, let me know what you think. Considered doing that for my sons last birthday, but didn't end up doing it. - Splashmountgirl

Im not planning on doing anything huge. Those packages, although super cute, are like $400. I was just thinking a few balloons and a signed picture from Cinderella or something. - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper

I think someone else recently posted a picture of balloons and a signed picture of Ariel that they had in their room. - AKMouse 376.5 #363 2:27PM
If you have reservations at any of the Disney properties, call them and tell them you're celebrating a birthday and you'll get balloons and an autographed picture (for FREE!) I don't know if it'll be left in the room or if you'll get it when you check in like I did... But you can't beat free! LOL - SPandEvLover 761.3 #130 2:44PM
We had three birthdays when we went. When I made reservations I made sure to tell them and we didn't get anything! I was so bummed. - aprilinjune4 380.7 #352 6:20PM
My grandparents did the birthday package for me and it was adorable! They can also do baloons and stuff but it's a great surprise(: - victoria13

We celebrated my dtr's bday at the Grad. They gave her balloons and signed pic of her favorite character when we checked in. I was able to sneak in before her and decorate the room Disney style with decorations from the Disney store and surprise gifts from characters. - NikkiMickey

We did a Princess gift set one year, but they didn't have it delivered when we went to the room. We had to go and ask about it twice, so the surprise was kind of spoiled. That was at the Dland Hotel. At the Grand we did a Princess cake (the next year) and still had to call and remind them to deliver it. Just be prepared! - cinderelli

I've read some really bad reviews on the DLH lately. I'm already a little worried. - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper 321.2 #514 6:48PM
We did it. There was a banner hanging on the door when we arrived, mickey's footprints around the floor, a hidden tinker belle shadow, a bunch of balloons, stuffed toys on the bed, a popcorn bucket full of 3 different types of popcorn, a photo frame, signed photo and letters from Mickey and lots of other gifts. It was expensive but it was certainly a lovely touch for my family. - TrueFromOzLovesDisney

How fun!! I probably would do the $400 package except my daughter has a friend coming who would be jealous, so I'll have to do something for her (it's her first time to DL) as well. - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper 321.2 #514 6:57PM
We ordered a cake and a gift basket and had them delivered to the room. It was cheaper then the package deal. I snuck back and decorated the room with Disney items and I got a balloon in the park. They delivered the cake and basket when I asked and set up so lovely. When we got back to the room it was very festive. At that time it was $18 for the cake they brought plates and everything. $45 for basket which came with birthday ears, small toys , a huge cookie. I can't remember the rest. I think the basket may have gone up on price but still beats $400 package. And housekeeping delivered a birthday cake made from washclothes. - Eraf61
