I have a question... Does anyone get a rash on their ankles after going on Splash Mountain?(yes, and you're welcome for not posting a picπŸ˜³πŸ˜‚)

Nope. No rashes. Although sometimes if my butt gets wet on Splash or GRR it itches for a while. (Don't act like I'm the only one!) - LaneSparrow316  846.9 #108 9:59AM
lmbo ~ literally! But yeah...it happens sometimes :o) especially if I'm wearing jeans LOL :o) - HadMatter  351.2 #410 10:01AM
Yes! Jeans or denim shorts! Haha.... - LaneSparrow316  846.9 #108 10:03AM
If you get squishy butt it's not from the attractions lol - splashphotoCM  880.9 #102 11:51AM

Yes I have, just above sock line. I thought I was the only one. - GoofyJen  185.9 #1798 11:08AM
Sue, there's a condition called Golfers Vasculitis, aka Disney Rash. I first experienced it in WDW in 2010, but I've had it happen twice at DL since. It leaves red blotches on your lower calves and ankles, but I've never experienced itching. It clears up in a day or two. You can Google it. It seems to come from excessive walking on hot pavement, which is when I've noticed it. - susieQzee  480.9 #247 9:44AM
...and no, it's not contageous, nor can it be transfered by contact. - susieQzee  480.9 #247 9:45AM
Interesting. Thanks. It usually doesn't hurt except last night it started burning right after splash. - SueBayou  2012.0 #34 9:57AM
My friend gets it, but only at DCA when it's blazing hot and she doesn't sunscreen. I have seen it happen to a lot of people WDW - kweenofhearts  18.1 #5267 11:32AM
Thank you suzieQzee! I have actualy been to the doctor for this. He had no answer for me. I just googled it and this solves the mystery. Symptoms, cause, pictures, everything. It all matches. If I go to DL when it's in the mid 90s in long pants I get this on my calves and shins guaranteed. - Tom  3898.5 #7 11:49AM
That has happened to my mom a couple of times too. And i discovered that by googleing as well. I thought it was funny that people nicknamed it the Disney rash. - PrincessTianna  89.4 #3158 12:43PM
Eww, eww, eww! - MelodyMouse  941.9 #93 10:11AM

That's strange, nope I never have. Hope it gets better - MarshaMouse  2872.0 #15 8:09AM
Does this happen all the time to you? Maybe youre allergic to a chemical they put in the water? - KissDclown  1088.1 #77 8:10AM
Don't say that or else she will never put both hads up in the air on that ride. - Slotherini  894.5 #99 8:11AM
She'll put both feet up instead - KissDclown  1088.1 #77 8:12AM
πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - Slotherini  894.5 #99 8:16AM
Yes. Everytime lately. Maybe something to do with the heat? I don't get it on GRR. And Sloth, I doubt I will ever get both hands up. πŸ˜’πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - SueBayou  2012.0 #34 8:19AM
That's strange....I would think it would happen no matter what of it's heat. Not just on Splash - KissDclown  1088.1 #77 8:27AM
No I never have, but I wear flip flops. - Sonja  5728.5 #3 10:17AM
It's never happened to us... - lynniesue42  229.4 #1254 8:12AM

Excuses, excuses!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ And no, never get a rash...but it is odd that it is just on your feet. - Gia  785.7 #121 8:57AM
I thought they only added food coloring to the water.lol - pikarich  616.3 #177 8:59AM
I don't but I have gotten wet clothing rub rash. But, at your ankles it's either the blue dye in your jeans, possbly fabric softener when it gets wet, or maybe there is something in the water. It is a clear water ride so it is mostly could be the chlorine and water treatment (like a pool) that could cause it. - Plumiegirl  3377.9 #10 10:27AM
Rub mozzarella cheese on the infected areas. - donnievegas  1127.5 #73 11:20AM
I've heard garlic cloves, but never mozzarella cheese. - Slotherini  894.5 #99 11:22AM
Garlic is for sunburns silly - donnievegas  1127.5 #73 11:29AM
It is probably caused by the vast amount of loved ones ashes that have been sprinkled throughout the majestic waterways of SM. - MightyWhitey  648.3 #166 11:22AM
It might be from the high amount of chemical they use to keep the water clean... I am sure they keep the Chlorine level higher than in a pool... - BambooMike  122.0 #2704 11:24AM
I think they actually use bromine to sanitize the water. There would be a strong chemical smell if high amount of chlorine were used and possibility for discoloration of clothing. Bromine is similar, but has less of a smell, is more stable at varying temperatures and is less of an irritant to skin. - nicholenjustin  155.1 #2229 11:42AM
Not on my ankles, but I do become itchy all over my body and my arms get these little red bumps. Almost like pimples - carolanne  19.7 #5094 11:55AM
That's heat rash. But this is different. - SueBayou  2012.0 #34 1:36PM
I do! I get it only at Disneyland and wondered if it was Splash. - VeloMouseGirl  549.7 #203 12:08PM
And this is the reason I avoid pirates, splash and grizzly ..... :) - TINO  372.2 #370 12:55PM

See? I knew I couldn't be the only one. Thanks SusieQzee I think you solved the mystery! - SueBayou  2012.0 #34 1:39PM
You got that again? I think you are allergic. It may be high chlorine level in the water. - MinnieNurse  331.5 #468 1:52PM
Hmm, haven't gotten that from Splash, but got an EPIC eye infection once after being soaked on Grizzly😷 - Nala  331.5 #467 3:01PM
