I have a question... Does anyone get a rash on their ankles after going on Splash Mountain?(yes, and you're welcome for not posting a picπ³π)
Nope. No rashes. Although sometimes if my butt gets wet on Splash or GRR it itches for a while. (Don't act like I'm the only one!) - LaneSparrow316

Sue, there's a condition called Golfers Vasculitis, aka Disney Rash. I first experienced it in WDW in 2010, but I've had it happen twice at DL since. It leaves red blotches on your lower calves and ankles, but I've never experienced itching. It clears up in a day or two. You can Google it. It seems to come from excessive walking on hot pavement, which is when I've noticed it. - susieQzee

...and no, it's not contageous, nor can it be transfered by contact. - susieQzee 480.9 #247 9:45AM
Interesting. Thanks. It usually doesn't hurt except last night it started burning right after splash. - SueBayou 2012.0 #34 9:57AM
My friend gets it, but only at DCA when it's blazing hot and she doesn't sunscreen. I have seen it happen to a lot of people WDW - kweenofhearts 18.1 #5267 11:32AM
Thank you suzieQzee! I have actualy been to the doctor for this. He had no answer for me. I just googled it and this solves the mystery. Symptoms, cause, pictures, everything. It all matches. If I go to DL when it's in the mid 90s in long pants I get this on my calves and shins guaranteed. - Tom 3898.5 #7 11:49AM
That has happened to my mom a couple of times too. And i discovered that by googleing as well. I thought it was funny that people nicknamed it the Disney rash. - PrincessTianna 89.4 #3158 12:43PM
Yes. Everytime lately. Maybe something to do with the heat? I don't get it on GRR. And Sloth, I doubt I will ever get both hands up. π’ππ - SueBayou 2012.0 #34 8:19AM
That's strange....I would think it would happen no matter what of it's heat. Not just on Splash - KissDclown 1088.1 #77 8:27AM
No I never have, but I wear flip flops. - Sonja 5728.5 #3 10:17AM

I don't but I have gotten wet clothing rub rash. But, at your ankles it's either the blue dye in your jeans, possbly fabric softener when it gets wet, or maybe there is something in the water. It is a clear water ride so it is mostly could be the chlorine and water treatment (like a pool) that could cause it. - Plumiegirl

I've heard garlic cloves, but never mozzarella cheese. - Slotherini 894.5 #99 11:22AM
Garlic is for sunburns silly - donnievegas 1127.5 #73 11:29AM
It is probably caused by the vast amount of loved ones ashes that have been sprinkled throughout the majestic waterways of SM. - MightyWhitey

It might be from the high amount of chemical they use to keep the water clean... I am sure they keep the Chlorine level higher than in a pool... - BambooMike

I think they actually use bromine to sanitize the water. There would be a strong chemical smell if high amount of chlorine were used and possibility for discoloration of clothing. Bromine is similar, but has less of a smell, is more stable at varying temperatures and is less of an irritant to skin. - nicholenjustin 155.1 #2229 11:42AM
Not on my ankles, but I do become itchy all over my body and my arms get these little red bumps. Almost like pimples - carolanne
