Good morning! This day in Disney history, Aug. 16, 1955: Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction opens in Fantasyland. Shown here in its original location. It was enhanced w/the water feature & moved to it's current location in 1983.
Also on this day, the Conestoga Wagons begin journeys into the wilderness of Frontierland. For a great website w/ more info & pics: http://is.gd/S3q6Ew
Also here is a short clip of the wagons: 🎬 http://is.gd/QPXKb8 🎥
Wow, Frontierland looks so cool. I wish it still had some of those buildings and atmosphere. - PrincessLeia

Wow, really? I guess the forced perspective makes them look really big in this picture. Cool. - PrincessLeia 263.4 #883 12:19PM
I am going to have to print out this picture and take it with me. Great info, thanks. - PrincessLeia 263.4 #883 3:29PM

I also like going on YouTube and searching through the old videos like in 1970, really neat stuff to watch! Thanks for all your info, makes it interesting when you go to the parks and your in a line for the ride and you end up telling people about the history of it! It's fun! - calidream1

Right?! Don't blink! 😂 I read that the original prototypes of the dumbos' weighed 700 lbs! This caused numerous mechanical problems that had to be worked out prior to its debut. - Duchess_SMK 3259.2 #11 9:49AM
And dumbo is still a fun atteaction to this day! - madsdad
