Good morning MW! This day in Disney history Aug 15th, 1929. "Peter and the Wolf" was released by RKO Radio Pictures, Inc. Narrated by Sterling Holloway. Peter, a small brave boy from Russia, goes off to hunt a wolf. Each character in the story has a particular instrument & musical theme. The music was composed by Sergei Prokofiev & was completed in just 4 days. This short is available on DVD as part of the Disney feature "Make Mine Music." To watch:🎬 http://is.gd/JPcOEh 🎥

Sterling Holloway was such a great voice for Disney and Hollywood. I remember seeing this in elementary school during a music class bc the musical instruments were the voices of the animals. - splashphotoCM
