I am hiting the sad realization that I don;t think I can do the half:-/ So much lack of training I tried to go out yesterday and with the humidity and heat at 7:00pm I lasted only 2 miles at a 15:00 pace :( I am not at the cross road do I go and walk in and try my best, or do I try to find someone to buy my spot..... I am so torn about what to do. If it wasn't for this awful heat I would be sining a different chant.
i vote you still go and have an amazing time :) - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint

Keep trying! I haven't been running either cause of the heat but it's supposed to let up next week. Also, go to YMCA website and you can download a free 7 day pass to their fitness facilities. There's one in Fullerton, maybe they will have a treadmill or something you can train on this week. I'm thinking about doing this too, they may even be cheaper than the gym for a membership. Good luck!! - kss4tink

Yeah, I've been either getting up really early to run or going on a treadmill. Even using an elliptical will help you a little, and going to the local YMCA is a great suggestion! - Spoonful_O_Sugar 436.2 #285 6:51AM
I've been worrying about how well I'll do as well due to lack of training & a few minor injuries. I decided I'm going to just run/ walk at a slower pace & have fun! - VikkiMouse

Goodness gracious I have been battling minor injuries & this heat too. Ive only been able to run maybe once a week but I keep reminding myself how much I went through before Tink and how much I wanted to throw the towel in but I didn't and I had a blast:) please keep your chin up Boo! I'm sure you'll make it to the finish line! - supertracy

You can do it Cass. Don't give up. You never know how you will do if you don't try. - Chumash28

Cass, I think you can do it. Go slower than normal, and listen to your body and stop if you are truly in pain. You might have to do that, but its better to try than to always wonder "what if." I wouldn't encourage you to try if you hadn't done the Tink half so recently: think of how far you've come in just a little more than a year! There are a lot of people that end up finishing with much less preparation than you've currently got. Be confident--it'll feel so great to cross that finish line, even if you do walk most of it. The only way we improve in life is if we challenge ourselves to do things that might seem out of reach. 😊 If you don't try, you'll never know. - Spoonful_O_Sugar

You can do it! Just think of the Blue Knight from Medieval Times and imagine him at the finish line xP - Jacqueline

I don't run marathons. I was wondering Would a spray bottle help with the humidity? - E-Ticket

Maybe try a walk/run in the early morning, about the time the half would start and see how you feel. I can't run worth a darn in the evening. But if you really feel you can't do it don't be ashamed. (((hugs))) - vernswifevickie

You can do it! Don't let one bad day keep you from your big goal! I would suggest going out early morning before it gets to bad. I love you!! I believe in you!! - AshleyLynn22
