my BF told me that her aunt and cousins always go to DL and love the mint juleps. a few years ago they went to new orleans and her aunt got the kids their own mint julep. at first the kids (9 and 11 years old) were like "mom, this tastes funny" and her aunt said, "just because it's not DL mint julep doesn't mean it's bad" so then she tried HERS and realized it had alcohol, LOL - MaidMiriam

It's a common drink in the South. Didn't originate at Disneyland. 😉 - LaneSparrow316

It's the official drink of the Kentucky Derby. So it's been around for quite awhile. 😉 - KermitFan13

They have them at most bars, bartenders hate making them, same with Mojitos - Dave

Really? That's interesting. I wonder why they hate making these drinks? - kss4tink 216.8 #1396 10:52PM
Probably all the muddling. - madsdad 1124.6 #73 10:55PM
They have to pint leaves in the bottom of the glass and muddle then with a wooden spoon to release the flavors. Not sure if this is what Dave is talking about though, just why I never make them lol - madsdad 1124.6 #73 11:13PM
put mint leaves, not whatever the heck i typed. - madsdad 1124.6 #73 11:14PM
take a lot of work to make one drink right while crushing the mint for the drink...at a bar that is high volume it just slows them down - Dave 8637.7 #2 11:17PM
Lol, I was about to have another confused face with pint. Thanks for explaining! - kss4tink 216.8 #1396 11:20PM
Thanks Dave, I'm glad I don't like em then. I'll stick with Guiness. - kss4tink 216.8 #1396 11:22PM
Learned my lesson in New Orleans...official mint juleps taste *nothing* like the Disneyland version. - Linzee
