OK...here is a question for all of you AP holders. My hubby and I live about 2 1/2 hours a way from DL and try to get there at least 2 x a year if we can. if we are only going 2x a year are the AP's worth it?

Depends on how many days you spend at the parks on those trips. Also how much merchandise and food you buy and get discounts for. - ScooterMike  1959.8 #35 10:26AM
I live 7 hours away and bought my first AP this year. I have been to the parks 10 times so far. Plus the food, merch, and parking discounts are great. I think once you have an AP you are more inclined to visit more often. I think it is worth it. - PrincessLeia  263.4 #886 10:32AM

I live in Utah. We have gotten annual passes every other year since my oldest turned three. We just justify the cost of the passes by making a couple of extra trips that year (usually four total). If you live 2 1/2 hours away and you buy passes, I would just decide to go more like three or four times that year. - VanDisney  342.0 #427 10:39AM
Wife and i use to live about 2hrs away we went about 35the times loved our ap - Stinker Bell  109.9 #2906 11:28AM
Doing the math on the Premium it is 5 visits if you take the price of a 1 day parkhopper and parking. If those 2 times a year includes multiple days it may very well be worth it. If you factor in discounts etc it adds up even more. I have not done the math on the other passes so I can not tell you about those. - Autoalice  135.7 #2510 10:30AM
I wasn't aware you got food and discounts on merchandise when you have an AP. I know when we were there just for 1 day in December, we spent close to $800, including out tickets...but we kind of went overboard on buying stuff because it was our Anniversary, and we hadn't been in several years. - MyEeyore  229.2 #1257 10:35AM
Yes, the discounts are great. You can look on the Disneyland website for a full list of the discounts offered with each pass. The premium pass is the only one that comes with parking, but you can add it to any of the other passes for an extra fee. If you are only going for one day each time you go, an AP is not worth it. If you want to go more or stay for a few days each time you go, it is defiantly worth it. - VanDisney  342.0 #427 10:48AM
Sounds like you live close enough to buy a southern California pass. So I definitely think it would be worth it. There are a lot of black out dates, but its easy to plan around them. - Heatherluvsdisney  224.6 #1303 10:32AM
We live 6 hours away and are planning on buying 4 premium passes. We're going for 4 days for Christmas and another trip spring. I think it'll pay off. - Foxyhawaiian  115.9 #2802 10:43AM
We live 6 hours away too and have 4 premium passes. We go every chance we get. Have 4 trips planned between now and new year's eve. - LaPearleNoir  574.0 #192 11:27AM
The AP discounts are a great benefit too! - Disneymomblessedx3  317.8 #533 10:57AM
Sounds like we may consider getting the as our anniversary gift to ourselves this year. Hubby is not a big Disney fan, but he goes for me:) - MyEeyore  229.2 #1257 11:06AM
