Food review- Carnation Cafe. I'm not a foody by any means, but thought I'd offer up a quick review. We (me, wife and son) had dinner at the Carnation Cafe this evening. The atmosphere and decor are spot-on Disney. That is, no noticeable blemishes. Wait staff is well trained and knowledgeable, all to be expected. It was 6:00 pm and a parade was going by but even so the wait was nominal at 12 minutes for an inside table. My son and I both had the Main Street Cheeseburger and my wife had the Turkey Sandwich on a pretzel roll. The food was a little slow (the table next to ours was also a party of 3, they were seated after we were, ordered after we did and received their order a full 5 minutes before we did.) Overall the food was well prepared, but honestly the Carl's Jr $6.00 burger is a better deal. The beef patty is thin, masking the taste in a large (tasty) bun with a large amount of lettuce. The fries were coated in a seasoned salt I could have done without and the portion seemed rather tiny for the price and they were cold. The turkey sandwich was another story- fresh pretzel bread with generous portions of thin sliced turkey with a proper proportion of lettuce and tomato served with fresh fruit. Very tasty, I recommend it. Dessert was strawberry rhubarb pie with vanilla ice cream. To be fair, I don't like strawberry rhubarb, but the wife does. She said it was excellent. The crust was flaky and well made. My son tried a drink I recommend you avoid. The PB&J soda. (Sprite, grape grenadine and peanut butter flavor.) It tastes as bad as it sounds. I have no idea how they did it, but it left an aftertaste like a cigarette butt, no joking. To be fair, our waitress warned us that we would either love it or hate it, there would be no in-between. Because we hated it, she removed it from our bill. (Extra tip for her!) Overall, I would say the Cafe is on the "do again" list, I'm just going to try a different entree. Enjoy!
