Yay! Hubby surprised me with 3 day Hoppers! I kept telling him one park one day to save a little, but he refuses to listen. Then he says he booked a kud suite at the portafino or something, I've never heard if it. Any opinions on that one? I looked it up and its all the way passEd katella. I told him to book close in case he needed a breather. Once again, he doesn't listen. So we're going the 31st-2nd is that a good time? Thanks for reading, i'm so excited!
I have stayed at the Portifino many times, and thought it was fine. The walk was a bit longer than from somewhere like the HoJo, but not bad at all. The kid's suite is nice, two rooms separated by a French door. Each room has its own tv. The kids' room has a microwave and refrig if I remember correctly, as well as a bunk bed and small table. Nothing super fancy, but clean and safe and staff was friendly. Also, it's Labor Day weekend (and Half Marathon), so hotels are filling up and more expensive. I say stay there and your husband planned well. Good for him! - PrincessKristin

when I say "breather" I mean he needs a long time out because he's agrophobic with anxiety and ptsd. (disabled vet) so that means he needs to be alone in his room. My only complaint but a big one. I came back to my room one day and my flat iron was on. I know I didn't leave it on. How did I know it wasn't me you may ask. It was our first night so the room was clean except for long grey hair strands on the floor near the iron. I have short dark brown hair so it wasn't me. I called the front desk to complain but they only said sorry. I won't be staying there again. - DisneyRose

I have ptsd as well. If I am there and cannot get away, I find a "safe place". That may be some where quite like a corner in the Grand Hotel lobby or the capathay circle lobby. I cannot handel large crowds either. I also have used restarunts to escape. - PinTrader

Just a heads up; not only is it Labor Day weekend but it's the same weekend as the DL 1/2 marathon so there will be more people there from out of town & street closures around the resort in the am of the 2nd. - pixiedreamer

Ugh! I thought it was labor day weekend, I told him it was. I wont say again what his problem is he said its after the 6th. (???). But also the marathon? Puhleese! Portifino is not bad. Close to park. I to am a combat vet and really like to take a break mid day to decompress. Hope you have a great time. We actully leave in 8 days. This time we are staying at Desert Palms, through costco, five day park hoppers! - DisneylandDadwithalazergunpewpew
