Lets say a certain someone was seriously thinking of moving to Anaheim for 6 months just to work at Disney. Is there a time commitment when you get hired in entertainment or as a character? Also how would I go about looking into auditioning for a particular role such as Pocahontas or a parade dancer? Any information is appreciated. Thanks ☺
Check DisneyAuditions.com Right now they're only looking for Parade performers for the Holidays so keep on checking the website for updates. - MayBie

That's for the tip. I'm going to keep my eyes peeled 😳. - TheREAL-Pocahontas 114.7 #2806 1:30PM
You have to audition when they post the audtions. Each department is separate. Parades is a department and friends of mickey are a different dept. Face friends of mickey audtions are strict. You must meet all criteria. I was friends with
mickey and still got asked to sub in parades but it wasnt often. Hope this helps - chipanddalefan

So my best bet is auditioning for a parade dancer instead of waiting for Pocahontas to be posted up right? - TheREAL-Pocahontas 114.7 #2806 4:33PM
yup! I think the holiday parade would be perfect for you. Can you roller skate? I think that would be fun to do but I'm not tall enough ;__; - MayBie 1864.2 #40 4:48PM
I think I'm gonna do the dancer for the parade audition. You should do it with me ☺ I didn't see a height requirement for that - TheREAL-Pocahontas 114.7 #2806 8:17AM
I would but I'm already paid to go bungee jumping that day :( I was so bummed when the casting call went up - MayBie 1864.2 #40 8:32AM
Aww man. You can't reschedule? 😔 that would've been cool to meet my first mwer at an audition - TheREAL-Pocahontas 114.7 #2806 8:43AM
No I don't think I can get a refund :( - MayBie 1864.2 #40 4:26PM
You will have to be upfront about only being available for six months. This will give you a disadvantage in relation to other applicants. - ScooterMike

I bet 😔 I want to try tho. Who knows maybe I could extend my stay. Have you auditioned before? - TheREAL-Pocahontas 114.7 #2806 1:29PM
yeah Mike have you auditioned? LOL - JollyRoger5 1869.6 #39 2:21PM
I wouldn't mind being a performer at DL. - ScooterMike 1959.8 #35 2:41PM
Also I Was looking as wdw posting for look a likes and they list the specific princesses or characters they are looking for. Does anyone know if they hire outside of those particular characters and princesses - TheREAL-Pocahontas

Usually if they're looking for certain heights, they're very strict about it. At least for character auditions they are - MEHlanie_Mouse 690.0 #146 2:20PM
If you're trying to be hired for characters they aren't looking for, I don't really think they'd hire you for them if that makes sense. The most they can do is tell you to keep checking the website for those auditions - MEHlanie_Mouse 690.0 #146 2:24PM
I meet the high requirement it's just I don't see Pocahontas listed as a princess they're looking for - TheREAL-Pocahontas 114.7 #2806 4:33PM
They might not be posting for Pocahontas right now because either they have good ones right now or are not using a Pocahontas at the parks right now. but what the others are saying is right, just keep checking, just keep checking!:) - secretagentangel 657.3 #158 4:53PM
Pocahontas is usually very busy, so she only comes in when her princess friends can't make it and Mickey really needs her. ;-) Which is why you hardly ever see her in the parks. Her and Wendy. - AWholeNewWorld 252.9 #979 2:40PM
Competition is hell. Thousands compete for one position. Just thought you'd be aware of that. Best of luck. - BCC

I'm sure there is more than one spot for the parade - TheREAL-Pocahontas 114.7 #2806 8:47AM
Of course there's more than one part, but there are tons of people that go to Disney auditions. I went to the last parade auditions and there were over 100 girls for the character auditions, for only five or six spots. You can imagine how packed this next one will be, especially since this one doesn't have a height requirement to audition. But it is fun to try :) - MEHlanie_Mouse 690.0 #146 9:20AM
Did they do the parade dancer and characters for the parade on one or did they separate the groups? - TheREAL-Pocahontas 114.7 #2806 2:18PM
it was for characters that were in the parade, and then for guys just regular dancers. So I don't know what they're doing for this one, if its full costume dancers/ regular dancers or what.. - MEHlanie_Mouse 690.0 #146 2:33PM
Entertainment just hosted cm only auditions. Out of the hundreds of people who auditioned they only accepted 5. So honestly, they probably won't need anyone for a while. - AWholeNewWorld

Or you could go to the parks, meet the current Pocahontas, sneeze on her "accidentally" and see what happens. - Disneymba

Good luck with auditioning! The auditions are fun and low pressure. Id love to dance for Disney but will not be auditioning for the Christmas parade because the music drives me nuts and hearing it that often would make me go crazy! Another good way to get your foot in the door would be to consider the college program, if you're still in school. But from one nor cal girl to another, you will not want to move back north after living down here! - ladylikesdisney
