Just booked our flights for our October trip...now time for hotel... Here's my dilemma... Our past 3 trips we've stayed at the Hilton because my sister in law worked for Hilton Hotels so we got a CRAZY low rate... Well my sister in law quit Hilton. So now we're trying to find a place to stay within walking distance. We'll be there 5 nights, I just have a hard time spending $129 a night for a place we spend minimal time at... When linderella and I go (since we live out of town) we spend as much time at the park as possible, getting there when the park opens and leaving when it closes... Our hotel is just a bed, shower and a place to store our lougage. Any suggestions on cheap, yet nice places to stay near DLR?

Don't shoot me here (HoJo is a popular choice, good rate with MW discount and nice rooms), but for location I'd stay at Best Western Park Place Inn. I found the room clean, safe, comfortable, and it included a refrigerator. And...walk right across the street to the front gates. :) - Alicewhoareyou  1552.8 #90 8:01PM
Also, you'll find quite a few threads on this topic via search feature. A lot of good stuff! Have fun planning :) - Alicewhoareyou  1552.8 #90 8:08PM
I agree...stayed here 1 night with my DarlingGranny (85) and we were both pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. :) - Darlingwendi  1163.7 #131 8:13PM
We always stay there and love it. - adisneyfamily  852.6 #192 10:25PM
I agree. This is where we usually stay. The location is the best and it's a decent motel. I doubt you'll get it for too much less than $129 per night though. I think the cheapest we've ever paid was $90.00 and now they've added parking fees. We recently stayed at Desert Inn and Suites a couple doors down and paid $59.00 per night but they also charge for parking. It was a decent motel also. Hope this helps :) - Hesatalkintome  28.6 #5595 4:57AM
I like this hotel (Best Wester PPI) too. We Have stayed thre before and are staying here this coming week. They have a decent price and free breakfast so you can get in a good meal before the park. - TMMBBW  24.8 #5973 7:00AM
This is also where I normally. It's clean and a great place. Right by ihop doesn't hurt either. Only reason I'm not staying there this year is our travel agent got us a better deal somewhere else. - JediTrance  71.6 #3913 4:00PM
I booked park place in the first week of october for 89 a night - PlutosBuddy  403.2 #508 5:49PM
HoJo is a popular place, never stayed there but everyone says its great.  We have stayed several times at Anaheim Fairfield Inn.  McDonald's is in front of it and Mimi's cafe is next to it.  You walk to the corner, there's the entrance to Disneyland. On the 2nd floor is pizza hut too... - babebahn  207.3 #1816 8:03PM
Loved Castle Inn and Suites - missyandpaul  269.1 #1088 12:30AM
Castle inn or the del sol. Both cheap and clean. They also are walking distance. Del sol is right there castle inn is like a 4-5 minute walk. Like 'em both :) - HauntedMansionGirl  10.0 #241 12:48AM
The motel 6 has new rooms and is clean!!!!! - MouseketeerforShort  340.3 #640 4:38AM
Check the Del Sol Inn. We just stayed there and were pretty satisfied and it's right across the street. - MightyWhitey  1062.4 #152 8:13PM
Anyone ever stay at the motel 6... The reviews are overwhelmingly good and it serves our purposes... - lampwick  310.3 #773 8:43PM
I haven't, but I've read good things about it--people on MW do seem to like it. - Spoonful_O_Sugar  573.8 #320 8:46PM
I've never stayed there, but another MW does a lot! She says it extremely well kept and very reasonable. - Gia  802.0 #205 8:59PM
I've stated there. Not quite walking distance to the parks though. Probably would need to drive or take the ART. They did renovate the rooms, hardwood floors and stuff. They usually have a good nightly rate. - minigirl1156  698.3 #242 9:10PM
Ive stayed there. I like it. I don't remember about transportation though. - fairyshley  479.8 #398 9:26PM
Does it have ART access ? - lampwick  310.3 #773 9:40PM
Just checked... It does :) - lampwick  310.3 #773 9:52PM
I've stayed at the Motel 6 on a few different occasions. It was renovated a few years back, so it's very clean and comfortable. They give you free coffee in the lobby each morning, and it's pretty good. The ART comes often and our family used that as well. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious, and they offer microwaves and fridges if you need them. Not to mention that it's incredibly affordable. Hope this helps! - poppet  19.7 #6697 12:04AM
Just booked with motel 6 ... When its just me and my wife and we spend every second the park is open at the park I see no real reason to spend a ton of extra money... :) thank you all or your help. Hope to see you all in October. I will probably spencer a meet up out first nightin the park :) - lampwick  310.3 #773 3:13PM
Darn you auto text!!! - lampwick  310.3 #773 3:14PM
Anaheim desert inn and suites is where I usually stay. Its decent and it's one of the closest to the main gate - Twitterpated  266.8 #1115 10:14PM
Candy Cane Inn is great! - ima-pirateswife  706.7 #236 10:15PM
We always stay at staybridge suites it usually cost between 85 and 115 and comes with a full hot breakfast which lets you save money on one meal for more money in the park. It has the art also that is the first stop on the way back to the hotel. - beastfearn  129.7 #2935 10:20PM
Travelodge Inn & Suites on Ball Rd has great rates. It isn't walking distance but the parking garage entrance is right across the street. So easy in & out if you don't mind the garage shuttle. - iloveprinceEric  261.2 #1162 10:21PM
Super 8 on katella. Cheap and clean. Or try the name your own price thing. Search Priceline in the lounge search feature for details. - GusGus  776.9 #214 10:29PM
Del sol and desert inn are awesome - disneylove7  32.6 #5270 10:31PM
my family always stays at the del sol and we get great rates there.. its right across the street from the DLR entrance.. very close. - flores509  201.3 #1883 11:41PM
The quality inn is a great place at a great price and u and the fam can easily walk to the park from there! - yipman  33.8 #5205 12:19AM
My mom and I stayed at the Quality Inn last June and it was great! We also spend the entire day at the parks, so we just needed a bed and walking distance from the parks. 5-10 minute walk tops! - andpiglettoo  119.2 #3119 12:48AM
We always stay at The Castle Inn. Usually find better rates through Getawaytoday. 3rd or 4th night free on some deals. - azbellatink  241.9 #1368 1:14AM
We recently stayed at the Tropicana. The rooms were comfortable and clean. It was ggreat to be walking distance - handdmom  233.1 #1479 4:24AM
Check out peacock suites.we love it there its nice n cheap - Tinky76  318.8 #732 4:54AM
We're staying at the days inn anahiem at Disneyland has anyone ever stayed there?Got a really good deal on Priceline that I couldn't refuse as we're only sleeping there - Disneymomab  31.2 #5374 6:29AM
Is that the one on Harbor? - LaPearleNoir  1448.8 #98 6:47AM
Yep it is. - Disneymomab  31.2 #5374 6:51AM
We didnt like it. - LaPearleNoir  1448.8 #98 5:55PM
The laquinta inn is a good hotel and also offers a pretty good breakfast that can help save some money as well. - Beej  236.8 #1417 6:54AM
The Anaheim Plaza is also not bad. We always stay at the Marriott, DL hotel, or Holiday Inn, but when I went with a few of my friends we wanted to save money on the room due to not spending a lot of time there as well. Although not a 5 star hotel, the Anaheim Plaza was pretty clean and comfortable, and really affordable! - seashelly  107.0 #3341 9:15AM
Del Sol offers AP discounts, Desert Inn always runs great deals on their site- both are directly across the street from main entrance. Days inn and suites on Harbor & ball is clean and really cheap and runs their own complimentary shuttle to the park. - PirateHairDork  374.7 #556 9:26AM
There are many hotels that I love right across the street but they tend to be on the pricier side. I've stayed at bothe the castle inn and the plaza and both were cheaper. I think the plaza is low rent. We would never stay there now that we have kids, but when we went just the two of us and just needed a bed and a shower it was great. Still really close for walking and in the morning I walked to the convenience store and got us breakfast items. Again not to bad for adults but I wouldn't take my kids there. - mickeyboo  66.5 #4028 3:40PM
We stay at super 8 on Katella, motel 6, or the clarion. All easy walking distance, and always under 50 a night. - madsdad  1847.0 #76 3:45PM
Question... As I have heard nothing but positive about motel 6, I have heard noting but bad about the clarion... How is the clarion really? - lampwick  310.3 #773 4:58PM
I did not like the walk from the Super 8 - it is more isolated and I did not feel as safe as if I had stayed on Harbor across from the park. - PrincessKristin  780.8 #213 5:05PM
Has anyone stayed at the days inn Disneyland at the park? Everyone's said something about other hotels but not this one please help - Disneymomab  31.2 #5374 3:26PM
I spent 5 days there a couple years ago price wasn't bad but pool was down, rooms were so-so and service van to park was hit & miss. I'v heard it is only worse now. going to try ho-jo in march for next visit - nitromouse  285.4 #929 3:57PM
We have stayed at the Ramada Maingate at the Park the past three years. Literally five min walk from hotel to security check. It's been great! They offer various room deals, nice pool and great service. I have booked them through Expedia.ca and Disney.com - calidream1  397.5 #518 3:42PM
Days inn is in pretty bad shape. so is the service. I'm going to try Ho-Jo in March on next visit. - nitromouse  285.4 #929 4:00PM
If ur looking for just a bed and shower, try abbys or alamo inn. Its not the best.motel (horrible service and a bit run down) but it frequently has rates in the 50-60s and ive even stayed there for 35..theur on katella ao its a like a 15 min walk. But if u want a nice place. Hojo. :).. - Jfigg23  257.8 #1196 4:10PM
I stayed at the Motel 6 during my visit in June. It's a good hotel for just sleeping and showering in. It's really close to the freeway so you can really hear the noise from some of the rooms. The rooms were clean and the staff was super friendly and the rates were cheap. :) - leftmyheartinwonderland  359.9 #587 5:02PM
We have stayed at the Motel 6 on Disney Way many times! Cause it truly is for us just somewhere to store our stuff, sleep and shower...Rooms are clean, staff is nice and the pool isn't bad :) - disneykimmi  117.0 #3163 5:34PM
All the Wyndham Brands are nice! They have a promo if you stay more than 2-3 days! I will say the HoJo, Ramada, Days Inn and Travelodge! I will go for Super 8 if you just really want a Bed, Shower and Storage! (They don't have a Microwave or Fridge, but you can ask for it I guess), Travelodge is nice but it is close to the Convention Center... Days Inn is average and they have a shuttle service from their area! HoJo is the MW choice for hotel, and i Love the Keurig Coffee Maker! Ramada Plaza is more expensive but they have full breakfast.... but all in all, i will go for Super 8 for Bed, shower and storage! - otilegna  2065.5 #62 5:44PM
Also check out the actual hotels websites. I was looking on Expedia for a hotel for dapper day and found the hotel mΓ©nage for $99. Then looked on their page and found out if you advance purchase the room you get a great deal. $86. But you have to advance purchase it 14 days or more our and pay for it right then. And it is non cancel able. So check the actual hotel websites. I noticed that advance purchase can happen at 14 days at some hotels and at 21 days for others. Just do research! - ImAlwaysCrazy  673.6 #254 5:46PM

CROWD PREDICTIONSpring Break is winding down as Disney reduces hours this week. The MouseWait Historical Crowd Index shows mid-70s for this week which seems about right. Crowds will be lighter than last week with Friday and Sunday being the busiest days. - Admin Apr 14, 2015 12:04PM

We have always noticed that Saturdays are better than Sundays! We always come on the weekend and say we want to leave at dinner time on Sunday, but always leave by 11-12 because there are so many people. We love Saturday!! - 1Princess3Princes  372.9 #559 5:39PM

I heard a law was passed this year that permitted dogs to be allowed in any outdoor dining patio area... someone should look into if this applies lol ... - TheRealJackandSally  73.1 #0 7:08PM
My dog was welcome there for the MW striker night meet up on Mar 31! - MelodyMouse  4019.8 #26 1:45PM

http://cchealth.org/eh/retail-food/dog-law-faq.php Β  I know folks love theiri pets but I still do not think this is sanitary Β from a food perspective. See the url for CA law. Unless they provide a designated pet area outside, dogs cannot lick the plates/utensils, who cleans up after a dog accident......No pets in at a restaurant for now (service dogs are the exception). Disney is excellent with their food cleanliness in the parks per the Public health inspections. DTD does not fare as well per Retaurarant inspection. Check the Health Care Agency for the current restaurant inspections. As a Public health nurse I always check to see who is keeping clean in their kitchens. Diners beware! - Plumiegirl  8572.4 #3 10:42AM
i asked for MW meet up discount on 3/31 and nobody working knew what I was taLking about but they did give me an ap discount - MelodyMouse  4019.8 #26 4:22PM
