Asking for prayers and pixie dust. Here's the story: My little 8 year old cousin is in Children Hospital in Oakland with a gun shot wound to the elbow. She was shot by her older 10 year old brother accidently. The gun shouldn't have been in the house, let alone loaded (the 10 year old doesn't know how to load a gun). Their father was sleeping when he should have been watching them, thier mother doesn't want them and left them four years ago. Thier father will most likley go to jail for lying to the dectives and hiding evidence (so he wouldn't get in trouble). As I'm sure you've gussed, their father is a selfish jerk (putting it mildly) and doesn't deserve to be a dad. The prayers I'm asking for are for the well being of the children. My cousin (from what I've been told) will be fine physicly, but I'm sure both of them will be living with emotional scars for a very long time and my heart breaks for them.
How horrible! My heart aches for those poor children. I can't stand it when little ones are left to fend for themselves with little or no parental guidance and a home that harbors little love for them. So heartbreaking, and this could have turned out so much worse. My prayers are with your cousins, hoping that they can both recover from this catastrophe. - poppet

It always breaks my heart to know children have to suffer because of the wrong doing of their parentals. Just remember that everything happens for a reason and it will always be better for thr sake of the kids. life is not always fair, but if it were we would never be as strong as we are. That is so sad and scary that it could have gone way worse! Sometimes I feel so sad for kids that dont have that parental guidance that they need. My prayers are with them and hope they both recover soon. - PrinceTeaJack

Children's Hospital is the best. Praying for healing and hope the children get some counseling and find a loving safe place to grow up in. I have said it before there are no do overs for children and their childhoods. - Dizkid
