Good morning MW!! I remember as a kid, My parents would tell My Sisters and I that We were going to Disneyland after We had breakfast, because if they told Us before We would be too excited and not eat. The same reason they wouldn't tell Us before bed time, We wouldn't sleep. I cherished those surprises so much. Has that happened to You? or Do You do the same for Your kids?? :)
We sure do. We've picked Tay up from school with her bags packed several times. The best was when we left home 7pm, told her we had to go to Fresno with dad because he had to finish a job there and didn't want to drive alone. She fell asleep in the car, when she woke up we were at the hotel in Anaheim. Surprises are the best...well, at least until she turns into a teenager and wants to pack herself. - Linzee

lol!! He had just finished a job there so it made the most sense, plus she knows hwy 5 so well, Fresno was the best choice :). BTW...all this talk of Fresno makes me want some Fresno State corn, it's the best!! - Linzee 515.2 #227 10:27AM

My parents should have used that tactic many years ago because neither my sister or myself would sleep or eat! 🍴💤 - A_kid_again

I've surprised my daughter a few times with Disneyland trips over the years... so it gets harder and harder to pull it over on her now that's she's almost 13...so I think my best surprise was when I used MW to go hop in the car and go to Disneyland for "One More Disney Day" since I knew she'd be looking at all of the posts on MW that evening. Best surprise... and we had a great time pulling a mom-daughter all nighter. - mickeyminnie

Remember that Disney commercial with the little boy who says "but I'm too excited to sleep!"? Love that commercial because it is so true. It's hard enough for me as an adult to sleep the night before we leave. My daughter knows we are going soon but we aren't going to tell exactly when until she wakes up in the car on our road trip there. Can't wait! - mickeyboo

My parents surprised us one morning by waking us up and just telling us to get in the car. After a while they told us we were going whale watching. All day long we talked about whales & boats and then we pulled into the Disneyland parking lot. Me being the uncooperative child I was asked why we were there and not at the ocean. My dad just stared at me and I started crying because I was so excited to see some whales. Lol! I don't even like to CA now unless we go to Disney. - luvmygreenarmyman
