Possible breaking news - did anyone else hear that Disney is considering another major price increase before Christmas? I just read an article on mouse planet about it and though nothing is definite, it says due to increased attendance they are considering yet another major price increase which will likely push the one day one park ticket to $100. It doesn't say anything about AP but I can only imagine...
This is not the end of the world. If it means we have to save and save and only go once every few years, then that's ok. There are ALWAYS ways to cut back and make a little more money to be able to afford things that we think are just barely out of reach. There are millions of people in this world who would love to take their families to DL just ONCE, but can't because they really, truly will never be able to afford airfare to the US for four, five, six, etc. people. Too true, very good point, and why I try not to complain about these kinds of things lol! π - LoveDisneyDucklings 28.6 #4432 10:41AM
I'm still gonna continue to go, but I do have this to say. All y'all are crazy if you don't realize Disney could have made these improvements without hikin' the heck out of admission. In the end, it's all about lining some suits pockets for the people in charge. At least we can still manage to enjoy the magic. But as I said before, I do like it just for keeping riff raff out of the park. Disneyland is the last place I like to see stoners and drug addicts, gang members and the like, and these higher prices will just make it harder for those types to get in :) - TheBudd

All I know is, if they hike up the prices again, I'm never going to be able to go. Ever again. I'm barely making it now and trying to sell things so I can go. I would be one sad, Saad little woman. - dreadpiratebubbles

This would make Knotts Berry Farm more money because no one would be able to afford Disneyland like they really can't now and would get the much cheaper pass at Knotts - PartridgeFam

Honestly, I would rather go to Disneyland once a year, if that were all I could afford, than go to Knott's, even if that same money got me into Knott's 365 days a year... - JinglePoe 289.9 #668 10:32AM
no kidding jinglepoe, totally agree. - madsdad 1120.6 #73 10:35AM
I agree JP Nothing beats the magic of DL! - PrinceTeaJack 785.8 #118 10:36AM
I don't know how to feel about this, at first I was a bit "grumpy" about having to pay $650 for my annual pass, but when I walked in the parks and saw all the improvements- it was so worth it. I don't think I could put a price on the feeling I had when I walked onto Buena Vista Street, and just thinking about Walt's journey - or even Cars Land - I love Cars! Also I can appreciate how the Disneyland Resort and Disneyland California Adventure are finally seperating and DCA is it's own theme park! I love the maps that Disneyland provides, but now I love even more that the entertainmetn guides are so detailed and in brighter colors and specific to each park. Honestly, there are also some price drops on certain merchandise. For years I have been wanting to purchase Mickey Mouse earrings but becuase I am so thrifty i wouldn't pay the 15.95 a pair or whatever it was - You can buy three pairs of Mickey earings for 10 bucks! Worth it - I think yes! Although no one wants to pay more money for something I always have to go back to the quality. I can count on the Disneyland Resort for amazing quality and really brining the magic. Price hikes are going to happen - have you ever lived in an apartment where your rent doesn't eventually go up? If yes, then you got a great deal ;) (Side note to my really long comment - start prebuying your annual passes and tickets now, lol) - Mouseketeer.for.Short

That is very sad news indeed :( I guess my kids will never see Disneyland. Walt would have been so disappointed. - Tangled

I agree this is very sad...I would love to be able to take my kids to Disneyland and have them experience it as they grow up but at this rate that will never happen. We can barely afford to go now.... - DisneyPrincessFreak 215.3 #1409 10:33AM
This is depressing indeed. But if it means smaller crowds I'm willing to pay. I have a feeling though that A TON of people that would have normally gone to WDW came to DL this year because of DCA. Hopefully, as New Fantastland in WDW opens up, that will keep extra tourists away. - rebray10

Why do you want to keep people away? Hoarding the magic?? - NotSoDapperDan 303.3 #591 11:12AM
Hopefully its just a rumour. I really do love Disneyland but the price just keeps getting ridiculous. So much for Walt's dream of having families coming in on a Sunday casually and enjoy their day... - Ain1derland

Does anyone know the likelihood of this happening? It certainly wouldn't be the first time they've had price increases within a few months of each other. - MsStarlite

I will start paying you to park there instead. - MeridasHair 318.8 #522 10:44AM
Lol, Rick, this could be a way to make up the price increase! ;) - Spoonful_O_Sugar 435.8 #283 10:44AM
I don't see another price hike before the holidays, but who knows. I also thought that the one day, one park tickets were already in the $100 range area a long while ago, haha. Regardless, it's always possible to s-a-v-e, s-a-v-e, s-a-v-e (: - Jacqueline
