I am traveling to Disneyland at the end of the month and am looking for options for tickets to get an annual pass. Right now I'm kicking myself for not looking ahead and buying before the price hike. I would've saved my family over $300.
My question is this: is it taboo to buy a park hopper or other ticket with a day or two left from someone on Craig's List for the purpose of turning it into an annual pass by using the hopper's value to carry it over?
First time poster so I'm sorry if I messed anything up. :)

My best friend bought tickets from Craigslist with the intent of proposing to his girlfriend in front of the castle. The tickets turned out to be fake. Great way to start his trip haha. The point is, DO NOT BUY from Craigslist. - Slotherini

He ended up buying an annual pass for the two of them and did propose, but all sorts of things didn't go to plan haha. - Slotherini 911.7 #100 11:33AM
She said yes, that was the one thing that went right haha - Slotherini 911.7 #100 11:34AM
I wouldn't want you to have to kick yourself any more. - Mouse4life

Please dont buy them from CL. Yes disney is expensive but it will be more expensive when you have to re buy those fake tickets with money you could of used for souvenirs. - ScarfGirl

Look at the ones being sold in your local grocery stores - some are still at the old prices. - TinkPen

Oh, and DON'T buy from Craigslist, too many people get burned that way! - TinkPen 428.4 #297 11:20AM

hi. sometimes those park hoppers are fakes and it can be crushing to find that you spent your hard earned money on fake tickets. and some people only 'loan' out the hoppers and you have to return them. Best idea is to save your money and get when you can afford it or do the payment plan :) - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint

It's not a good idea to buy from others: the tickets state they are non transferrable and there is the possibility you are buying tickets that have no value, getting scammed - LBChica

I may be wrong but I believe those tickets are nontransferable. If so, that would be a tragedy waiting to happen. (if I'm wrong, someone, please correct me. Thanks!) - VeloMouseGirl

I wouldn't buy from Craigslist. I see a lot of people get turned down at the front gate with tickets which I assume are used park hoppers. And you'll just end up being out the money. - chris.

I saw a family yesterday get turned down, it was so sad :( - MarshaMouse 2936.2 #16 11:55AM
Do not buy from Craigslist. If it is too good to be true it probably is. We see people with fake tickets at least once a trip. Last time was sad. Mom was crying as they had spent over a grand on the tickets and would not be able to buy real ones. - MeridasHair

Do NOT buy from places that aren't authorized to sell Disney tickets. My friend purchased tickets online from Disney the other day and it got flagged somehow. Anyway, they were stopped at the turnstiles and taken to City Hall. When they got there, security was waiting for them. It took over 2 hours to prove that the tickets were not frauds. I would hate to have your vacation start this way. - alwaysbouncinby

Thanks for the comments MW Family! It is unlikely that we will buy anything other than tickets from Disney's online site. Just doing my research. Thanks! - joshwikler
