Well - we stood in line (again) for over an hour to get fast passes for the cars racers and did not get them. We were next to go! I really don't know the secret to getting a fast pass for this!
Instead of waiting an hour for Fast Passes, how about waiting in the actual line? Even if you have to wait a little bit longer then an hour at least in the morning it would be cooler then the afternoon/evening when your FP will finally be available. - Armenda

We will be there on the 17th celebrating my great nephews fourth birthday. He has every cars toy known to man and is a cars expert at age 3. We hope we get fast passes so he can ride the ride. The long lines would be tough for this little guy. The family plans to spend his whole birthday in Cars Land. I hope we can find enough CMs with the cars buttons for him. - ladylikesdisneysmom

Get to the gate prior to opening and head straight for the FP line. Dont try on early entry ap days unless you have an ap and are there for EE - LaPearleNoir

I don't have an annual pass and when I got my fastpasses I had to line up for DCA at 7am, park opened at 8am, I went directly to fastpass line and I was able to get them. While I did the waiting, my family went straight to the line for the ride, so then I met up with them. So we rode in the morning in the regular line and then later around noon with our fastpasses. Get to the gates early! We went on a Saturday a week and a half ago. Got in line at the gate at 7:00am. They open the gates about 15-20 minutes early to Buena Vista. You can't go beyond Buena Vista but the fast pass line will start to form to the right of Carthay Circle restaurant. The fast pass machines open up when they drop the rope at 8AM. - Bonedaddy
