Looking for Grand Californian opinions. I want to book a room for bff wedding/honeymoon gift. What can you tell me about concierge vs view rooms. We want to give her the most memorable experience possible but since I have never stayed there I'm a little lost on this one. Any help, tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What a nice friend! I've had the pool view and DTD view, highly recommend DTD view. You can see the fireworks and cool people watching. I'd recommend spending the $ on a room gift (champagne, rose pedals, cookies and milk at night, etc) than concierge level. They do a great job of making the room special, we have always had great experiences with this. - PrincessDuckie  585.2 #187 10:54AM
Never stayed at conceirge but view rooms are amazing if you can book a paradise pier view room on the 5th floor you can watch world of color from there which was a huge thing with my bf and I then if you want a dtd view you do get to see fireworks we used to ask for one on the highest floor and closest to Disneyland that way we could see the train and Monerail. Either side has their ups. The grand is so magical though - cmdlgurl  255.5 #951 11:21AM
Oh and I agree instead of the concierge pay the difference for a special surprise to wait for them in a view room. we once came back to our room in the middle of the day and a friend of ours that worked in the grand had our bed covered in roses and chocolate covered strawberries waiting super romantic. - cmdlgurl  255.5 #951 11:25AM
My only stay there was a regular room which overlooked the parking lot in the front, kind of disappointing as it could have been a room anywhere other then the convenience of having the park entrance. I will definitely upgrade on the next visit. - TinkPen  428.4 #292 10:55AM

I've stayed there twice and my family have always asked for free upgrade park view rooms. They don't charge extra because you're not real high up, but you can still see parts of the park. Once we had the room looking at Soaring and the monorail went right under our room. That was really cool! Either way, the hotel is beautiful, it'll be great no matter what! Have fun! - JoeDownTheRabbitHole  395.9 #336 11:12AM
We've stayed there many times. Go for the park view room as high up as you can! Watching the park wake up and go to sleep is awesome!! - SueBayou  2012.0 #34 11:25AM
It's my favorite place to stay. It made me a 'hotel snob'! The DTD view was amazing. I could see the Matterhorn from my bed. It's the best and I'm sure whatever view they get will be great. - smileslikeChesh  11.5 #6338 12:16PM
i'd use the extra money to buy them a room gift instead of concierge level. we did it once and while it was nice, we didn't use it so it was kind of a waste of money. i think they'd appreciate the gift a lot more! - LolatheSlush  201.3 #1605 12:44PM
It is so incredibly peaceful to look over the park after hours - girlzstylin  227.0 #1282 12:49PM
Go for the gift thing and when you are booking make sure to tell them it's a gift for a newlywed couple. Good chance they will upgrade the view/room for free. - aidensmama  336.4 #444 12:54PM
