Good evening all. Our trip is coming up ever so quickly and I have a question that I'm wondering if someone could help with. We are staying at the Grand for the first time ever and they are offering magic mornings on the opposite days as AP magic mornings. I've seen that AP mornings are super busy but haven't seen anything about the hotel ones. Are they about the same? Thanks for any input and I look forward to meeting some more amazing MWers on our trip!

I don't know about magic mornings, but I just went to the AP early entry at Disneyland and it wasn't busy at all! I went to early entry at DCA the week before and it was busy, but still totally worth the early morning wake up! - BRabbit  306.0 #579 7:33PM
Thanks! We always get there early since mornings are less crowded than afternoons. We're planning on two morning at DCA then one at DL. - minigirl1156  411.7 #315 7:36PM
We have done magic mornings while staying at the Grand and DLH. Seriously, I would say that it's always my favorite part of the trip! We have done magic mornings at several points duringr the year: Memorial Day, late June, January, and October, and they have always been a treat--it's never been super-crowded! The best advice is to get there before the gates open, and have an idea of what you want to ride. Many people go straight to Peter Pan, and there's usually a 10-20 minute wait for that, but we sometimes go to other rides and go on that right before the park opens to everyone and the line gets really long. There was one time that we went on 7 different Fantasyland rides in one hour--it was really fun! - Spoonful_O_Sugar  435.9 #285 7:48PM
Thanks! - minigirl1156  411.7 #315 7:51PM
As long as you stay in the hotel any Disney hotel they give you that.I been lucky to stay in them and its the same as any reg day - Image310  6.8 #8300 7:54PM
Did it seem as busy during the magic mornings? Especially at DCA with all the recent improvements? - minigirl1156  411.7 #315 8:03PM
We were just there at Grand last week. For resort magic hours, we got to CA hotel entrance about 6:45 for 7am and were near end of 2nd line. They suggested we go to CA regular entrance because there are only 2 ticket CMs at hotel entrance but all open at regular one. They opened gates at 7 and we all quickly walked to RSR :) also, fastpass doesn't start until normal 8am opening time. - Disney Jen  168.2 #2028 9:15PM
How long was the wait for RSR once you got in. And would you suggest the lines in front or through the Grand if you are going to line up early. - kskating  377.4 #361 10:18PM
Thanks. I think we'll head to the main entrance super early and head straight to RSR! - minigirl1156  411.7 #315 1:20AM
Ok.. I'm learning so much new stuff of this site LOL.  AP holders have early entry days???  We have Deluxe Passes, are they eligible as well? - DaisyDork  170.0 #2006 9:51PM
I believe AP's can register for a day to go to DCA's magic morning/early entry but you have to pre-register for a day... I don't think you can do it for DL, only DCA from my understanding - brodysmommy  243.7 #1062 10:27PM
Oh really? I will look into this, thanks for the info! - DaisyDork  170.0 #2006 10:32PM
Yeah it's somewhere on DL's website. I just looked at it yesterday but it's only u til sept 13, right before the halloween stuff starts. I remember that part (my memory isn't te same after 2 kids haha) but it explains on there the different options for the early mornings/magic mornings - brodysmommy  243.7 #1062 10:38PM
I thought that if you are staying at any of the 3 hotels you got magic morning automatically, depending on which park is open? And that DL has it 4 days of the week and DCA has it the other 3 days? Am I wrong? So each day only 1 of the parks has it and when you stay at the hotel you get in automatically, doesn't matter what kind of pass you have. That was my understanding.... I could be wrong though. - brodysmommy  243.7 #1062 10:25PM
And on the opposite days AP's have magic mornings in the other parks. You must sign up for these magic mornings in advance. - kskating  377.4 #361 10:58PM
So then both parks are open every morning and one park has hotel guests and the other has AP's? - brodysmommy  243.7 #1062 11:01PM
Yes. While AP's are in DL, hotel guests are in DCA, and vice versa. - JinglePoe  289.9 #669 11:23PM
Oh ok! Thanks for clarifying!! :) - brodysmommy  243.7 #1062 11:27PM
Also, check with the hotel CM's about which is the better entrance to use on magic morning days. If you're magic morning day is in DCA, then you might want to use the main entrance instead of the Grand Ca entrance (all the hotel guests will opt for that one -and I heard the line was longer)... But ask...have fun! - Tomorrowland  66.5 #60 11:33PM
Can anyone direct me where to register for the AP magic morning?  I'm on the site but I'm not seeing any information about it anywhere?  Thanks in advance!!!!! - DaisyDork  170.0 #2006 9:21PM
Answering my own question for anyone else who may be wondering. Here is the link to register: www.disneyland.com/aphappier - DaisyDork  170.0 #2006 10:44PM
