Alright folks I have gotten a few DMs about my upgrading experience so here is what happened.( I will try to spell well😉) My old pass was a SoCal pass with an expiration date of 8/26/12. I have gone to a total of 5 different Ticket booths, post increase price time, and was always turned away and told that I could not upgrade due to (it being more than 40 days is pass expiration) today I went to the ticket booth and got a nice guy. I explained my frustration told him it is just not fair that people who went to the AP Cars Land preview event could update well in advance of the 40 days of renewal. I then explained I just want to go to the parks next week. He told me I had one of two options. OPTION 1 - I COULD get the old Pre-increase price but my pass would then expire on July 1, 2013. OR OPTION 2- I could upgrade today ( still 10 day prior to the 40 day upgrade window) I would need to renew at NEW price, but my expiration date would then stay at 8-26-2013, plus I would then get the -$20 renewal rate. So after crunching some numbers well I called beau lol it pretty much broke out to be even:) so I just did the new price, with renewal discount and will now be able to go to parks for 13.5 months:). I did payment plan no down payment was required , but tomm I will have 52.47 taken out of account. Hope that helps and makes sense to those asking
I tried to go through again and fix some fancy spelling errors - BooEve123 800.3 #115 1:44AM

Thanks for explaining! I missed out on the old renewal price and mine doesn't expire until 10/2. But it's still worth it! - Alicewhoareyou

He rocked. I love how he punched your old pass before you decided what you were doing! I'm so glad we stopped by there and you're not esplanade bound anymore :) - 415beachgirl

Congratulations! I'm glad it worked out for you!
To be clear, are you saying that in renewing early, paying the new price, and getting a $20 discount you were able to get a premium pass (or deluxe?) good for 13.5 months starting now and not when your current pass would've expired? I'm curious because my husband & daughter both have SoCal APs too. - MsStarlite
