Discussion topic: Now that DCA has gotten their expansion and revamp, where do you think that Disneyland could be expanded and what would you like to see?

Someone said it in another post yesterday, and I agree--Autopia and Innoventions could be...uh... revamped or taken out. I know we hate change, but I think those two attractions take a lot of space for what they are ^_^. - KylaShea

I think INNOVENTIONS should be re-done into a WALL-E themed, sustainable future technology showcase/demo area with a large terrarium greenhouse of exotic and rare plants. 1) it furthers walt's idea that Disneyland should teach kids as well as inspire. 2) It's along the lines of "future" that INNOVENTIONS already tries to achieve. 3) there needs to be an interactive remote controlled WALL-e, like how Push was. - kingofthecatsinsidedisneyland

My number one is they absolutely need to do something with the peoplemover/rocket rods track. Either take it down or do something with it, but don't just leave it there. It really goes against Walt's ideas of keeping the park clean and it's just a waste of space. I would also like to see them do something with the old Fantasyland skyway station. I know it's more hidden, but it's vaulable space and something should be done. - Sarafina

This was a huge discussion between my SO and myself. While I love Disneyland the way it is, with the success John Lasseter brought to DCA, I would love to see possibly something else Pixar inspired. Personally I would LOVE a Toy Story themed area or Up. However some more rides based on classics would be nice as well. As for the space perhaps behind Splash Mountain? - tiggertwin

I would gut the Innoventions building and make it into an Incredibles themed attraction, while keeping the mid century architecture intact. They should bring back and update the Peoplemover. It would be nice to see the space where the Rocket Jets were be used for something. Also the former Motor Boat Cruise area is sitting vacant. - ScooterMike

Innoventions can go. Turning it into something Incredibles related is a great idea. I like the idea of an UP ride. Remember when they had those sky ride things that would take you across the park? How about something like that with an Up theme? They have to keep Nemo. My family loves that ride. - Gabster1

There's been talk of something Avengers themed popping up eventually since Disney bought the Avengers. But I don't know. If they do decide to use the autopia space it would have to still be something that would fit the theme of tomorow land. - WonTonInWonderland

A lion king themed ride, a Pocahontas themed ride, a tangled themed ride, a mulan themed ride, and definitely a beauty and the beast themed ride(: they can take out Pinocchio, Mr toad, snow white, toon town (minus cartoon spin), innoventions... yeah. Pinocchio, Mr toad, and snow whiteare kinda scary o.o lol I'm 19 and I went on them for the.first time since I was little and my mom was laughing at me and my sister because we kept screaming lol of course after a while we did it on purpose but still lol - splashie

Obviously, land is hard to come by in Southern California and especially at the resort. So, if there were to be additions to the park, it would probably happen where there is an existing attraction in its place. But don't forget, there's still a new stage show coming to Fantasyland once the Princess Fairy Faire moves to the castle area - BaseballMickey_CM

I kinda feel like Dca is the Pixar Park. I would love to see Up themes and other Pixar stuff but think it would fit in batter at DCA. I would love an update of Tomorrowland. Especially Innoventions. And of course People Mover needs to come back! - Deltachiq

There's a lot of interesting ideas here. I've always been a fan of the "bring the People Mover back" idea. Though I think someone mentioned possibly taking out the Autopia. I think that should definitely stay. For most kids that's the first time they get to drive some kind of car. So that should definitely be kept for the kids, but (like mentioned by someone else) another update of it would be cool. - NotNKansasAnymor

I just think autopia needs an update. I get sick from the fumes. I can't even smoke anymore. Blech, but I do sometimes.
I think we should have more characters running around, especially villains. I also think it would be cool if for Disneyland's big 60 that they brought back some old shows from the golden horseshoe and parades, and what not. Kinda bring back a lil bit from all the past decades. And maybe come up with some new show/musical about Walt Disney and the beginning . I have one in my mind that I wanted yto wire down and make sketches for. Ya know? I wish I could just travel back in time and experience each decade of Disney. I want to feel it. I want to soak it up until there is nothing left. New is good but unless you can remember where you came from, where your roots are, what do have? - dreadpiratebubbles

Please do something with the peoplemover tracks!! I still remember riding that with my folks when I was young and I loved the Tron tunnel - why not bring back a Tron ride? Bring back the Peoplemover in some fashion, and turn Innovations into the Tron game grid - in 3D or something!! So it looks like you are being transported to the grid with other programs and then you go through light cycles or something, but more modern than it looked in the 80's. That would be awesome!! - Dawnsharks
