Question? At what age did u start letting ur little ones go off on their own/with their friends at DL??
I probably will not allow my son to go alone till he is about 15 and that'll depend on how responsible he is at that age. You can never be too careful with your kids safety. That's my motto at least. - aidensmama

If you are thinking like me, that will be her 1st date and honeymoon all at the same time? - Villescas8(V8) 589.1 #185 12:12AM
My unborn child can never go without me. I'd be too offended. - AshleyLynn22

7 and 5. But they kept finding us. :-) Actually, the would go on rides in the same lands at 11 and 9. Pre cellphone era, we used walkie talkies to keep in touch. - SorcererBHhaha

I took my daughter and her best friend for their 13th birthdays and allowed them to go off on their own for several hours. My daughter has been to the park lots even though we're out of state and knows the park without a map. They did need to have fully charged phones and they checked in via text. They weren't allowed to park hop without me and they had to stay together. I stayed in the park, except for a quick walk back to the hotel room to drop off some stuff. Absolutely no problems. I think DL is a great place to start teaching kids how to be responsible. As with anything else, you have to know your kids and set good ground rules. It was my first time "solo" in the park and it was kind of fun! - redrockmickey

That's pretty much what my parents did for my 13th birthday.. Let us roam around, but they were still at the parks at least. I think around 15 or so I was able to go with just friends and be dropped off at the parks - MEHlanie_Mouse 690.9 #146 12:28AM
I don't have little ones but I was around 12 or 13. My parents would drop my friends and I off for my Birthdays. 😊 - Sweet_Irish_Cream

My son is 14 and I've let him, but I've been in the park at the same time. He has to text me a check in once an hour and I give him a time he must meet us at. So far, no issues. 😊 - DisneyFanZoe

Never! Mwahahaha. My oldest is only five but they already know their way around so maybe 12 with friends? I will change that to 16 when he's 12, lol i'm mean and don't trust everyone at the parks. - Krissy Marissy

Oh and I'll be in the parks too, secretly stalking him and watching his every move. I'm over protective. - Krissy Marissy 411.0 #316 9:44PM
I'm asking for my nieces sake. Shes 14 and wants to go off alone with friends but her parents will be in the parks. My son is 3 1/2, I have a few more years. :-) - MWchild 19.6 #5098 9:48PM
I was allowed to start going at about 14 or 15. I had to check in often and was never allowed out past 10, and my parents were the ones to always drive me to and from the parks. Im 19 and I still check in with my mommy every couple hours :P - OneDayAlice

I'm 51 and check in with mother @ least 2x each park visit. I'm very loved 💜 - Plumiegirl 3322.9 #10 9:57PM
My daughter is 14 & as long as she checked in (via text) at least every 30-45 minutes I would let her go on some rides with just her friends as long as I am in the park!! ...I doubt this will ever happen because we live too far away... but if she and her brother/cousin wanted to go on a ride while I shopped or something I would be ok with it as long as she was checking in... Oh!! and I would have to be at the park too! :) - DiamondInTheRough

My cousin is 15 at 13, she was allowed to when we were at the park and 14 by herself. Lexi and brad at 8 and 11, they can go on rides, but I wait at the exit. - Minnis2Society

I think 14 with friends that have High behavioral/ moral standards and parent drops off and picks up is perfect. I would also gps my child via their phone. - Plumiegirl

My parents would drop off my brother, sister, me, and cousins then pick us up at Midnight. We would also meet up friends, back then we would use the pay phone by the Tiki Lounge to check in. All three of us would have to be present. We were 13,14, and 15 at the time. - nicealex77

My son was 12 or 13. He goes off on his own because a lot of our trips it's just me my son and my daughter that isn't tall enough to get on big rides. We always meet up for meals and I give him money for snacks, drinks or any souvenirs that he might want. I don't mind letting him off alone while at DL. To me its the safest place he could be alone 😊 - Keala76

Last time we were there my daughter was 15. I never let her & her friend out of my sight! Of course, I've spent most of my life living in small towns in Oregon. She's 17 now & would let her go alone with friends now. - toniasmith

I allowed my two oldest kiddos to roam the park at ages 12 and 15. They had to check in with me by phone every hour untill they needed food or something. If I was on a ride at that time a txt was ok. They had to tell me where they where and what they were planning next. They also were not allowed to leave the park. - Arielkitten13

I was allowed to go with my best friend when I was about 13 or 14... But we were both very mature and responsible. And that was also about 14 years ago too. So times have changed. Although your child may be mature now adays I'd worry about the crazies out there. So I would wait till they were at least old enough to drive themselves there. - MelB

My oldest is 12 almost 13. He takes the little kids through the lines a lot and meets us at the end. He has gone off with his friends alone in the parks though. - Mrsblue

I was allowed to go off with my brother (who's 4 years older) when I was 10 but not allowed to go on my own or with friends until I was 16. My mom was very cautious because we only visited WDW and it's so huge she wanted us to stay close. - lostgirl7988

My sister is 18 and I'm 16 and my parents drop us off at 8:00 AM and pick us up at midnight. we have to send them a text message every 2 hours though. it's definitely safe but it depend on how mature they are - DonaldMissingPants

I was 16 the first time my Mom let me go with one of my friends by ourselves. We were staying at the GCH though, so they were still near Disneyland I guess. I've never been dropped off and picked up before. - JoeDownTheRabbitHole

Mine are 18, 14, 12, and nearly 10. I will let the older two go together, but they have cell phones. I'll let the three of them run around Tom sawyer's island together, but I'm on the island just not running through caves with them. - JenAnneWho
