Alright I need opinions....we booked our package back in April for our trip at the end of November. I called today to find out the cost to upgrade our hotel to the Grand California...well come to find out we were lucky enough to be able to get the 6 day park hopper they no longer sell so upgrading our package can't happen. BUT the awesome cast member so I spoke to suggest we upgrade to annual deluxe passport...my problem is I have no idea the exact cost of our 6 day because it doesn't break that down on our reservation. Anyways...my question is, should we upgrade our 6 day park hoppers to an annual passport? Are there enough perks with this to make the. Ost difference worth it? Thanks everyone!!

6 day park hopper has to be at least $300-400 right? I'd say if you can possibly come back sometime it's worth it. Plus you'll get 15% discount on food, merch, etc. - Normstar  81.1 #3260 10:30AM
Deluxe AP only gets a 10 percent discount. - PeachKay  310.6 #554 10:33AM
10% food. 15% merchandise - otilegna  842.5 #107 10:50AM
10% straight across the board is what the Disneyland AP page says, 20% on tours: http://disneyland.disney.go.com/passes/discounts/ - PeachKay  310.6 #554 10:58AM
^agreed.you'll save money from the discounts, which add up! - MrLeeFromDisney  259.4 #913 10:32AM
if you can make it happen to come back..100% YES!!! then you can really take your time and enjoy. we make our AP work and we are Nor Cal --365 miles away 😃😃😃 - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  1766.3 #43 10:35AM
We are in Oregon so it's a 16 hour drive for us but I really think if we had these we would go twice if not three times a year...so torn on what to do! - DisneyDreamer18  168.4 #2022 10:37AM
We're from Washington and also drive 16 hours. Were planning on going again in September so that one trip will make the upgrade worth it. So hopefully at least one more trip after that and it will be like going for free to us. - MightyWhitey  648.3 #164 10:40AM
i doubt that you would regret getting them. you can find a way to get there :)✨✨ - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  1766.3 #43 10:41AM
also...heehee, i seriously doubt anyone here would advise against getting one ;D - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  1766.3 #43 10:46AM
Thank you everyone for your advice! After talking and looking at all the perks we are going to be upgrading when we get there!! I'm so excited to finally be an annual pass holder!! - DisneyDreamer18  168.4 #2022 7:04AM
We are sort of in the same boat for our July trip. We have six day parkhoppers which we bought at Geatawaytoday.com in our package. They cost $246 each but the Disneyland gate price would have been $271 I believe. We had planned on upgrading to Deluxe AP's at the old price and had to adjust our budgets for the price increase. We plan on making at least one more trip so the cost is worth it to us. Also, be cognizant of blackout days and if they work with your vacation days. The AP discount will also be a nice bonus. - MightyWhitey  648.3 #164 10:32AM
Are you planning on going twice in a year? (Or more) That was the only reason I upgraded to the deluxe AP. I live in Colorado and it was cheaper to do two visits on an AP than two visits with 4day hoppers. (We only did the 4 day ones.) There are only two of us, though. - PeachKay  310.6 #554 10:32AM
You will definatly get your moneys worth with the pass- especially with the 10% discount on food and merchandise on a 6 day trip. - missbecca  233.7 #1187 10:35AM
We usually only go once a year BUT if we got the deluxe I know we would go at least twice. And there are no blackout dates when we are there this year (which is awesome). I've searched online to find out the cost of a 6 day but am having no luck. I'm hoping I can call back the reservations and they can tell me. - DisneyDreamer18  168.4 #2022 10:36AM
When you book through Disneyland.com do you pay the gate price on the package for the tickets? - DisneyDreamer18  168.4 #2022 10:38AM
If your not planningon coming back wihin a year maybe just get one. That way you can enjoy the discounts. Check the blackout days. - Katrayher  739.0 #138 10:38AM
6-Day Park Hopper Children $251.00, Adults $271.00 at the gate Children $231.00, Adults $251.00 in advance online - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  1766.3 #43 10:45AM
So stupid question but if we took them to the gate which price would they give us a trade in value at? - DisneyDreamer18  168.4 #2022 2:47PM
It is totally worth it if you are going to go more than once a year. We upgraded so we could go more than once year. Also the 10 discount on food and merchandise adds up when you spend in the park. So my suggestion is to break it down the cost of the park hoppers versus the pass expense and how many times you will go. Also if your a resident of Ca you can make payments. If you decide to upgrade do so right away so you can take advantage of your discount. Also remeber they take the full value of your park hopper off when you upgrade so you only owe the difference. Hope this is helpful. - PrincessAuroraMomma  392.6 #339 10:58AM
Questions to ask yourself:1)  Are we coming back in the next calendar year?  Then get Deluxes.2)  Figure out the savings on food and souvenirs. - MeridasHair  318.3 #525 11:15AM
One other thing to keep in mind--passholders sometimes get 30% discounts on resort hotels.  The problem with being out of state, though, is we might not know when that is unless we hear about it on MouseWait. :)  Our passes aren't officially activated until we go to the park and get our official pass with picture. And we can't sign up for passholder emails without that barcode number from the official pass. :/ - PeachKay  310.6 #554 11:36AM
Wait until the last day if you are upgrading to deluxe. If there are any blockout dates, your park hoppers would be better and the ap is good on the first day o f use, even if blocked out. Would recommend upgrading one to premium if you plan to park a car in subsequent trips (staying off site). - bluefairy  627.0 #173 1:24PM
With an AP can you book a vacation package online with hotel only and still get the pass holder discount? - DisneyDreamer18  168.4 #2022 2:49PM
I think so. I called and talked to a reservations person and she said she would honor my AP discount even though I only had the printed voucher and not my actual pass yet. Is that what you mean? - PeachKay  310.6 #554 7:19PM
