@Goofy101...Umm, I don't know where you're getting your information from, but you might wanna double check that. A simple search online reveals multiple sources that all give June 23, 1963 as the date of official opening, and there were never any reports of the Tiki Room burning down. I also conferred with my boyfriend on this, he used to work at the Tiki Room. YOU might be getting this confused with the Tiki Room at WDW, which opened in October of 1971 and a couple of years ago caught fire, but only sustained minor damage, it never burned down. The correct date is 06/23/63. This info is direct from Disney One Source which is a CM Portal.

It is my understanding that the Tiki Room opened on June 23rd. I remember that because that is my neice's birthday and when we took her to the park we went into the Tiki Room, they announced it and had everyone say happy birthday to the Tiki Room. - NotNKansasAnymor

June 23, 1963 is correct. The tiki room in DL never burned down. There was a fire a few years ago in WDW that caused some pretty serious damage to the new version of the tiki room there. The attraction was closed and converted back to the same classic tiki room we have at DL. - lostgirl7988
