So since cars land is opening up soon to the public and there are several rumors about what is next for disneyland and dca.....and this is my opinion....why not get rid of autotopia? I also like the get rid of inoventions and make it starks industry
You can't get rid of Autopia. It's an original plus it's where I and so many other people learned how to drive. However doing something with Inovetions would be nice. - LovePiglet76

No wonder why there are so many bad drivers if they are learning to drive from autopia. I agree that they can't get rid of it. It's a legend. - aidensmama 339.4 #446 11:39PM
Although I get iron lung from Autopia everytime i'm on this attraction, you can't kill an Icon. I would love a refurb of Autopia and put it back to its original form. Innoventions would be better suited as Tron City. Wishful thinking. - vincentchase

They should bring back the SKY BUCKETS and cage them like mickeys fun wheel... I miss the view from above the park - bellerie

right..and make it go through the Matterhorn again - Bo22 347.5 #432 3:30PM
an updated Peoplemover. Yes, I'm aware of the new stricter regulations... just get it done. period. - Grindcore
330.8 #485 2:02PM
In order to renovate the people mover track they would have to close 80% of tomorrowland. - lostgirl7988 556.6 #205 3:29PM
With McQueen on it! and Mater, but the steering wheel is opposite! - LaTruce 1830.7 #44 1:56PM
No way! Autopia is the only place I can text and drive! Don't take that away =) - djbreakdown

Autopia needs to be come green. Make the cars electric. No more bad gas smell... - OutNumberedMom
776.2 #128 1:00PM
This attraction is sponsored by Chevron... - BambooMike 129.3 #2639 1:03PM
I love that smell though - RandyNewman 401.0 #337 1:10PM
The smell is what makes it so familiar. - LovePiglet76 39.2 #4091 1:16PM
It gives me a headache. So they get a new sponcer... GE,or one of the solar companies. How cool would it be to have solar cars to drive. This is Tomorrowland. We are suppose to be seeing what the world would be like in the future. Gas is so yesterday(land) - OutNumberedMom 776.2 #128 1:36PM
Yeah I'm with you there. I can't ride it because the smell makes me sick. - LaneSparrow316 846.9 #110 2:50PM
It's not sponsored by Chevron anymore. Look at the License they give you. It doesn't say Chevron on it anymore. - Sandcar13 1365.3 #59 3:51PM
I agree! Make it electric/solar powered ( it would save them $ too) - wonderlandgirl 325.7 #511 9:34PM
I've read (and please don't ask where, because I don't remember) that WDI's next focus will be on improving Tomorrowland, to possibly incorporate Marvel (Innoventions/America Sings building revamp). Also, in the much distant future, there's talk of expanding the walkways in Critter Country to go behind ROA and connect to...Toon Town/Fantasyland. Walt said, "Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world." - susieQzee

I think changing innovations into a marvel themed attraction would be cool. A good way to incorporate Marvel into the parks without over doing it. Something to do with iron man and stark industries would be pretty cool! - DaisyCrazy 255.1 #980 2:59PM
I personally love inventions. I take my nephews in there all the time and they have an absolute ball. I read somewhere that when captain eo goes away (yes it's going away. It was only meant to come back as a tribute and never meant to be permanent) that a stark expo would take over that building. - lostgirl7988 556.6 #205 3:31PM
Marvel DOES NOT belong in Disneyland! I don't care if they bought it. It just DOES NOT belong in there. Marvel is too old and well established as it's own brand. Sorry ranting... - Autoalice 137.1 #2534 3:36PM
I've only been into innovations once and loved it! But on the other hand it's something that can get a little boring after a while. I'm not necessarily saying they should get rid of it but if they are changing things I think something to do with Marvel would be cool. Putting it where Captain EO is now could be a good idea as well! - DaisyCrazy 255.1 #980 3:38PM
@Autoalice as much as I love Marvel I think that it shouldn't be all over the parks especially if they had characters walking around it could look tacky! Lol If Disney was going incorporate it in the parks though I think having an attraction like innovations would be the best idea. - DaisyCrazy 255.1 #980 3:44PM
Autoalice-people said the same about star wars and Indy when they were brought in. - lostgirl7988 556.6 #205 4:03PM
That may be the only way I can accept marvel in Disneyland. Like, a honey I shrink the audience show in the theatre featuring a stark industries announcement like the apple ones that goes awry. Or, an industry showcase in the innoventions building. Both of those would have minimal impact on the aesthetics in tomorrowland, and be mostly inside. - bluefairy 628.9 #175 9:40PM
Getting rid of Autopia would reduce LA basin smog by 50%. - Tom

Original opening day attractions should never be taken out. That includes the Autopia. So many people want the old attractions brought back. Innoventions should go and I would love to see Carousel of Progress brought back, even America Sings would be better. Country Bears would be perfect in DCA. Also the Motor Boats would be a great come back for kids. - splashphotoCM

There is a little room left east of Cars land where I think they should make a small version, maybe on multiple levels, of a Cars themed Autopia. That way they could somewhat appease the purists and open up valuable space for a major Tomorrowland E-ticket, oh yeah and get rid of Innovations too. - MightyWhitey

I can't seem to find Autotopia. I did take my daughter on Autopia last night though. She loves it. - ScooterMike
1959.8 #37 12:55PM
My family really enjoys Autopia. I agree it would be nice to change the cars from gas powered though, but it's really not that bad. But it is really a fun attraction. Innovations I feel like I'm in nothing but a big commercial for electronics they want me to buy. In the last 7 years I think we've only been in there 3 or 4 times max voluntarily that wasn't just to run in and get quest cards for VMK. A couple times was only because we were desperate for A/C and it was a walk in the top instead of waiting for the door to rotate open. That building needs to be something other than a commercial. - Autoalice

Vmk!!! Aww the memories - Goofy101 136.7 #2540 2:44PM
Lol, we live in a golf course community and every time the maintenance carts drive by, I think of Autopia because the engines are the same. Haha! Although it's not a ride I particularly enjoy, it's so "Disney;" it'd be a shame to remove it completely. I'd love to see it modified and for some of that empty space around that area to get more use, though! - Spoonful_O_Sugar
439.1 #288 1:06PM
I disagree with getting rid of Autopia. It is the only time my son can drive a car. I do wish the cars were green, but with Chevron being a sponsor that isn't going to happen anytime soon. I would also like to see innovantions gone. The last time we went in there was to get out of the rain. There really has to be something way more interesting to put in that space. - Lelundrial
344.9 #437 1:09PM
... How much would it cost to buy out Autopia as a sponsor and refurb it? Not that I have any money, but it would be an interesting idea. - DelilahJo3 178.6 #1914 1:18PM
According to BaseballMickeyCM (somewhere on here today) the Chevron sponsership is ending soon. Maybe we'll see some greener cars. - LaneSparrow316 846.9 #110 3:46PM
I think they should either revamp or either take out A Bug's Land. - iamdugsmaster
762.3 #132 1:16PM
Can't get rid of Bugs Land. It caters to the very small and special needs childern who need slow paced excitement. I know that's where we spend a few hours every time we are in that park. DL has Fantasy Land that has the more slower paced things for kids, but DCA needs Bugs Land. - Cinderellamomma 293.5 #665 3:25PM
I like Bugs Land. - Sharkgrrl19 203.0 #1624 9:45PM
Actually, the sponsorship of Chevron for Autopia is supposed to end this summer/fall due to the contract ending, so maybe a change is coming (can't promise anything). And taking out Innoventions will be hard because it is one of the last places in the park where guests can be educated about so many things, which was one of Walt's original intentions of building Tomorrowland. - BaseballMickey_CM
2993.9 #15 1:20PM
Educated about what? Last time I was in there I saw nothing but a bunch of video games. Has it changed? - Lelundrial 344.9 #437 1:24PM
They pulled the Chevron logos off the old gas pumps across from Soarin. I posted a pic yesterday - ScooterMike 1959.8 #37 1:27PM
What Scooter said. The changes are already happening - xsdesign 421.7 #311 1:39PM
Innoventions has Peter Pan story time!! It CAN NOT be removed! - LaTruce 1830.7 #44 1:58PM
The house of the future has a ton of educational stuff. Yes there is an area with video games because keys face it, if you go with boys between 12-15 they're gonna love it. But I've seen kids light up in there without going near video games. - lostgirl7988 556.6 #205 4:08PM
I really hope they don't get rid of autopia, I love that ride. i guess I may be the only one though. - crustle
625.4 #178 1:34PM
I love it and kids actually think they are driving! Keep Autopia! - RickChavez 2332.7 #28 1:36PM
I hope they keep Autopia!! That's my daughters favorite ride especially since she can't go on the "big kid" attractions yet... - Keala76

Autotopia? Haha, nice. Don't you just love auto correct. Okay okay, keep AUTOPIA but make it flying cars - Goofy101
136.7 #2540 2:48PM
Yeah, sometimes you have to spell things correctly, or else some people on MW can't make the connection to what you really were talking about... =P - LaTruce 1830.7 #44 2:54PM
am I the only one that likes innoventions..? hahah i love the house of the future part of it! all of the top level, on the other hand, seems so disorganized and bleh. but you gotta love the peter Pan story room :) - mia
129.3 #2640 3:31PM
I like it to but I think they can do so much more with it. Its almost not futuristic with all the stuff coming out and what movies are doing. - Goofy101 136.7 #2540 3:42PM
Mia I love innovetions. I will fight for it any day of the week. - lostgirl7988 556.6 #205 4:08PM
Mia, I liked innoventions as well. I thought it was really cool. My daughter loved the little girls room in the house of tomorrow. - PrincessSassy

I would like them to update autopia and Make the pedals easier to push. My son was tall enough to ride by himself but his legs weren't strong enough to keep the pedal down. - TrueFromOzLovesDisney
312.4 #565 9:23PM
I agree! Last time we went my son was 10, he got to "drive" by himself for the 1st time! He was so excited! He sure didn't make it very far, a CM had to jump in and drive for him because the pedals are so hard to push. It was pretty funny! - JessM4 269.5 #846 9:30PM
I agree. I'm a grown women and I have trouble keeping the pedal down. Of course I'm sitting in the passenger set holding it down since my son can't reach it, but still... - aidensmama 339.4 #446 11:50PM
I saw that happen with these two girls in front of us. They were tall enough, but apparently had no leg strength. So one of the employees got in with them. - Lelundrial 344.9 #437 8:59AM
Why would you get rid of Autopia?? I love that ride!! :D - PixarDreamer
245.8 #1066 9:26PM
A couple of weeks ago while in the lobby waiting for Great Moments to begin I overheard a CM talking about taking out Pinocchio and Snow White and replacing it with a Tangled ride. I'm going to go ahead and assume this is 100% true because it makes for a better story that way. - Ferncantfight
9.1 #7216 9:31PM
I hope not. Those attractions are classic! - MomWithAJuiceBoxBuzz 923.0 #97 9:58PM
I love those rides though. My childhood! Haha. 😊 - shelleyLOVESjames 5.5 #9948 9:58PM
there has been rumors that they are taking out snow white at WDW or maybe they already did?? - secretagentangel 710.6 #143 10:01PM
Snow whites scary adventures has already closed at WDW. There will be a seven dwarfs mine ride in new fantasyland. It was an opening day attraction there and they had quite a send off. - lostgirl7988 556.6 #205 10:02PM
The CM said that those two rides aren't very popular which is why they would make the switch. I personally like that I can get on those rides and feel like I don't spend half my day in line. - Ferncantfight 9.1 #7216 10:29PM
How about a connection path from spash mountain to the princess fair around the back - puddy77
90.7 #3183 10:01PM
the only other thing I was told is that once the princess fantasy faire is finished, they will be working on more in frontierland over by big thunder, with some sort of show on the stage with the fab four for kids, plus one cm told me they were thinking of bringing back the motorboats?? I love as many water rides as possible!! - secretagentangel
710.6 #143 10:09PM
oh, and i would love a monorail stop there in DCA where the bridge is right where the main entrance is. - secretagentangel 710.6 #143 10:10PM
Secretagentangel, I LOVE your idea of a stop in DCA! But I just realized, it would be a nightmare for entry because not everyone gets the "Park Hoppers." Oh I just wish it was all one big park already! :-) - nittywitty 194.9 #1734 10:34PM
yes, how would they keep the people without the right passes separated and how to keep them from not getting off the monorail. probably a nightmare for cm's unless they make every other monorail for dca or something and you get a pass like a fastpass to be in that line. - secretagentangel 710.6 #143 11:07PM
