We have a new Evil Queen in the making!!! Walt Disney Animation Studios announced today Idina Menzel has been cast as Elsa the Snow Queen for the new animated movie "Frozen" loosely based on the Hans Christian Andersen's tale entitled The Snow Queen. It also stars Kristen Bell as Anna who will search for the Snow Queen and try to put an end to the icy spell that has confined a kingdom to an eternal winter. The animated feature is slated for November 2013 and is being directed by Chris Buck who did Tarzan and produced by Peter Del Vecho who did Winnie the Pooh and Princess and the Frog. Last time Disney used a Hans Christian Andersen short story was The Little Mermaid.

Sounds good! Hans Christian Anderson stories are so cool. usually a lot darker and disturbing than what Disney portrays. but awesome none the less :) trivia tid bit: the Steadfast Tin Soldier portion of Fantasia 2000 was also a HCA story ;) - tuesday737
