The Music Of Cars Land: Many MWers have posted beautiful pictures of Cars Land and it's wonderful sights. Something that does not come through in still photos is the music. The music in the main outdoors area on the road is a mix of rockabilly, classic country, and other oldies. I heard artists such as Johnny Cash (One Piece At A Time) Booker T & The MGs (Green Onions), Chuck Berry (Mabeline) Aretha Frankin (Freeway Of Love) and Even Commander Cody (Hot Rod Lincoln) being played. The music inside Flo's is a mix of the great sixties girl groups and female solo artists, with an emphasis on the Motown sound. Artists such as the Supremes ( You Cant Hurry Love and several others) the Crystals (Da Doo Ron Ron) Fontella Bass (Rescue Me), Aretha Franklin (Respect) and Martha Reeves & The Vandellas (Nowhere To Run, Heat Wave) can be heard heard here. Some Italian opera, traditional Italian music, Rosemary Clooney (Mambo Italiano), and Dean Martin ( That's Amore) were heard in the line for Luigi's Flying Tires. I'm sure if I stayed here long enough Louie Prima and Sinatra were probally in the mix. The line for RSR has a loop of early country and bluegrass. Ramones appears to have its own soundtrack. I heard War (Why Can't We Be Friends) when I walked in. Mater's Junkyard Jamboree has original square dance country songs performed by Mater himself. They seem to have several different songs for this ride so it's not too repetitive. Overall it's a great soundtrack put together by Disney to fit the setting.
My family and I were talking to one of the plaids that was in Carsland yesterday about the music for Maters Junkyard, she told us there are 11 original songs created by Mater and Billy Hill and the Hillbillies for the ride - HpplyEvrAftr

I suspect that Green Onions was used because of its use at the beginning of the drag race scene at the end of American Graffiti. I also hope that there is at least one Ronettes song in the loop at Flo's since they are my favorite sixties girl group. - ScooterMike
