The hubby, kids and I will be making our first official family trip to Disneyland next Thursday. My kids are 2 and 4 and have no idea we are going. I think I'm going to tell them the day we leave. My son who is a BIG Cars fan is going to pee his pants when he sees cars land lol. Originally we only planned on going to the Cars Land preview (we won tickets) however my husband said "why not go to Disneyland too!" I'm sure my tears, begging, bribes, and one full on rolling on the floor tantrum helped him make that decision lol. I would love to meet some MWers and CM for sure, let me know if you will be there. I'm excited to see Disneyland through my kids eyes for the first time. Any suggestions on must eats, must visit, must rides, MW secrets would be appreciated. I haven't been to the park in close to 4 years . I want to make Ethan and Ava's first trip special.
Please tell me you got a video of the rolling on the floor tantrum. I need to see how to perfect my skills. - LittleAprilShowers

lol he just might! It's worth a try lol. Well, I really didn't do all that, just a "please honey, the kids would love it" speech! He was like "we are planning a big trip in November!!" I think he makes better decisions when he is hungry and I'm the only cook in the house...loll - BriarBeauty 60.7 #3563 8:41PM
Lol, interesting tactic. I'll have to try using hunger to my advantage when I'm negotiating! - Spoonful_O_Sugar 436.0 #285 8:48PM

Have SO much fun!! There are lots of cool secrets on the Disney Secrets page! (http://mousewait.com/blog/?tag=disneyland-secrets) One of my favorites (and I am going to try it with my niece in August) is requesting to steer the Mark Twain! - DiamondInTheRough

You look fabulous!! Have amazing trip. You can get fast passes at the time the one you have shows to return so make sure to get as many as possible. Both parks are on different systems so take advantage if you can. - MarshaMouse

Character breakfast! I'm partial to Storyteller's cause I love the critters and food but a 2&4 yr old would probably like goofy's kitchen more. Have a blast! - JNewie

I agree with the suggestion of a character meal. there is Minnie & Friends which is cool because you can make a reservation if its a day of magic morning at Disneyland (Tu,Th, Sa,Su), you can make the reservation at 7:40 & get there at 7 am and enjoy 40 minutes of Magic Morning before you have to eat. Last time I made reservations that is what the CM suggested doing to get Fantasyland or Tomorrowland done. - aliasgrrl86

Do a character meal so you can get photos with the characters quicker and have more time for rides. Plus your 2 year old will eat for free! Don't forget about the childcare areas at both parks with nursing area, cushy changing tables and usually quieter, my daughter gets afraid of all the toilet flushing in the bathrooms. Check out kids menus before you go, not all places have same kids meals, I used springpad to compile the kids menus because I have a picky kid. Take lots of pics and have fun! It is so great to take your kids for the first time, makes it a whole new experience :) - gothicchic21
