A visual for the center of park. Using an image labled as 7-15-55 I drew out a square centered on my understanding of the spike location until the right edge hit the street at Harbor Bl. I also confirmed on recent maps on google and Bing. Not exactly centered on width but close. Top to bottom only centers if you include Toon Town. Discuss amongst yourselves.

The whole idea of it being the center of the park is funny. Its a good myth but false nonetheless. My understanding is that the spike is purely a surveyers mark. There are supposedly other marks like that scattered elsewhere in the park for land surveying purposes. Now if it was also used to center the castle to main street then it would also fit with the concept that its a surveyers mark. - Fade2blk 303.0 #595 8:08PM
