Hello everyone. My upcoming trip in June will be my first of many trips in a wheelchair. Earlier this year, not long after I turned 40, I was diagnosed with Ehlers-danlos syndrome. Basically my connective tissue doesn't hold my joints in place so they dislocate. For those of you who are wheelchair bound, any recommendations? Thank you.
Make sure to get the guest assitance card that will allow u to go thru the exit - princessVanessa

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Don't be afraid to ask for what you need. There are nurses on staff at the first aid center on main street. They are so helpful and kind. - Mrs.mouse

Wow. I'm sorry that your EDS is so severe. My daughter Allison (4) has been diagnosed with a mild case of EDS. She goes to physical therapy once a week now. We do have a GAC for her because sometimes standing in long lines is tough for her. CMs have been great when I asked for a GAC for her. Just let them know you have EDS and why it's hard for you to stand in line. - Sandcar13

Oh my I am so very sorry your daughter has this too! Poor thing. Bless her heart I hope the pt helps her feel better. Thank you for your response and information you passed along. Maybe someday soon my family can meet your family and your precious Allison. I have a 4 year old myself, and a 9, 12, and 18 year old :) - TamiLovesDisney 125.3 #2640 7:07AM

The best advice we received was from Sugarbuzz here on MW. She recommended a ROHO cushion for my husband's comfort. Insurance should cover it as it is pricey. - SeñorBuzz&Jessie
