Let me introduce you to Taz. She was a Stater Brothers dog ( someone outside trying to get rid of her. ) with a sad tale of abuse from men as a puppy supposedly not from the person giving her away. Sherrie brought her home and Taz loved Sherrie, but wanted nothing to do with me. Knowing her story I was not going to give up on her and through much time and patients Taz became one of my most loyal dogs ever. She greets me every day with lots of love when I get home from work as my others do, but I know that hers comes with an extra special trust of me that makes me feel real special and reminds me that with a little time, patients, and love we can heal, grow, and do just about anything if we just put some effort into it. What a great RAK!! Here are my furry kids: first there's Buster Dogg, pronounced D-oh-double G. We rescued him when he was about 12 werks old. People brought him to San Diego from El Centro because they didn't have any no kill shelters. He's a Red Bond Coonhound (like the dog in "Where the Red Fern Grows"). Then there's Rascal - he's a 12 or 13 year old black cat. We just lost his mom "Mamas". They adopted us. Mamas was abandoned with kittens. We'd leave food and water out for her... She brought her kittens to us. We are the first humans Rascal ever encountered. One day it was raining, had to bring them indoors. Another day, heard Coyotes near by and they've been inside ever since and that was oh 12-13 years ago!! We just lost Mamas in the last week and a half. : (. When I lived in San Diego, I used to take my dog (when we went in vacation) to this ranch in Alpine (40 miles away from where I lived). It was set on a few acres.
