For those of you shy folks out there. MouseWaiters are the easiest and nicest folks to meet. Yeah, there's some solid friendships out there but nobody is so cliquish that they won't say hello and include you in some fun conversations. That was one of things I looked forward to hosting the studio trip - finally meeting all these newer names on the app. I made a point during lunch of going table to table and, without exception, every single person was friendly and fun to chat with. With MW, you don't need an invite. Just be yourself, don't take things too seriously, you'll be having fun in no time. The end.

I was SO scared to go to my first meetup!! I went by myself and didn't know anybody, and it was really scary but I will never regret it (and I'm really shy, it was very unlike me to go meet strangers all by myself) :) I've made some awesome friends that I hope to know for many years to come. I'm not normally a shy person, but I get nervous at every MW meet up I go to. It's just a vulnerable feeling, but you just have to get a little out of your comfort zone. Yes, many of the people here know each other, but at each meet up I've been to, there have also been people that are newer and don't know a lot of people. I get nervous sometimes even seeing people I've already met! You just have to take a chance, and also reach out to others that are new and might be feeling awkward, too. - PrincessKristin

Totally agree. Even if your shy, just be patient, you will make friends. I think patience is a key word here, no need to rush, just let friendships develop as they would anywhere else, and having a sense of humor and not jumping to conclusion is vital! I still consider myself to be fairly new and it has been a nice welcoming environment by following the have patience, humor, and don't jump to conclusions!!! - madsdad

I posted this morning that I started out Friday at the Studio being a virtual wallflower and blossomed into one of the Whoop Whoop mw gang on Sunday. E818, you were extremely welcoming and everyone else I met was also. My life changed a bit over the weekend...all for the better. I've spent my years in school struggling socially. Even outside of school, I found making friends to be somewhat difficult due to my shy, sometimes awkward nature and social anxieties. However, I have never in my life met a group of individuals that are like MWers. Yes... people have their established friendships but not one single person has come off as cold or unwelcoming that I've met at MW meet ups. Everyone is so warm and funny and caring. I think it's easy to try to want to jump in and be buddy-buddy instantly with everyone but my advice is to just take it slow. Attend meet ups and be yourself. I'm very fortunate to have joined this app and met the wonderful folks that I've met. - Aquata
