To beat the price hike tomorrow, I just bought my premium pass over the phone. All they gave me was a confirmation # to give to a ticket booth and told me to pick a date to pick it up and I'd have 30 days from that date to pick it up. I've never done it like that before. Anyone ever pay over the phone before? I just went and paid in full instead of doing the payment plan. I already see the $998 (for 2 passes) pending in my Disney Visa account. So how it works is my pass will be activated the day I pick it up and not the day I bought it? I've been buying passes for years and years and years, but buying over the phone is a first for me, so I guess I'm a little nervous.
So would I be able to buy another annual pass, although mine does not expire till December under a different credit card and not activate the eticket till after my expiration...want to beat the price hike. - ArmorGTX

That 30 days is weird to me. I hope someone can help you. It is my understanding if you buy an AP gift card today you have till the end of 2012 to activate it. - PrincessDuckie

Yes - since you paid in full it will activate the day of first use. If you had chosen monthly it will begin at time of purchase, regardless of first use date. - EpicDio

I have the contract for the financing option for purchasing a new AP online. The pass does not activate until first use at a Disney Theme Park. Upon Activation it is good for 1 calendar year. - NotSoDapperDan 303.3 #595 3:58PM

Yes I called for the payment option and he told me the payments will b taken out out the day of purchase first (which is the down payment and 48hrs will b the first month and so on after).. She then told me I have 12 months to activate the pass.. Like someone above had mentioned - bents

@scubapro5 You can buy the annual gift voucher online but you can't use the payment plan with it.I'm trying to use the payment plan so if I buy another anuual pass it will give me an eticket voucher instead and I'm wondering if I can hold on to that till after my expiration to active the pass. I tried calling but it was talking to long...I might just try it and see what happens. - ArmorGTX

While we on this subject, I got a question: my AP doesn't expire until the end of July, & I'm on the monthly payment option. Does anyone know if we as AP holders will still get a bit of a discount when renewing, like it's always been? I tried calling, & gave up after 25 min. of waiting. - sammy.aceves

I'm pretty sure you still get your $20 off for renewing. Plus some have been told they will honor the current prices for renewal until 7/1 and you can renew 40 days before expiration so you should be good. - Pixarprincess 531.4 #215 6:25PM
Well I went through with it. I purchased another set of Annual passes with a different address/name/creditcard (used my gf this time) Put the down payment of $160, although I am uncertain when the monthly payments will start. I also do remember getting an eticket back in december when I first got my annual pass and that eticket voucher had redeem by 12/31/2012 so I'm hoping for the same on these as well. - ArmorGTX

The monthly payments start when u first pay for it (the $80 for each ticket purchase)... I called and they said u can activate it within 12 months of the purchase date... So say u buy today and u activate it in October u will finish paying the AP in May but u can use ur AP til October(as an example).. That is what I was told when I called.. I also asked for the upgrade option and she said if u want to upgrade that u have to pay the difference on the spot and that u cannot make payments (and it will b the new price)... - bents 16.4 #5471 6:51PM

I bought mine today, too. What sucks is, I'm not redeeming mine til October and I'm a new pass holder. That means I don't have a real card or bar code to register as a pass holder online. (I tried.) I just renewed/upgraded our passes to premium. I bought my son's over the phone using a Disney gift card. The other 2, I paid for on line. Our new passes won't get her in time for next trip. I was directed to go to the ticket booth with our confirmation numbers. We are good to go. - LaPearleNoir
