I tried to find this answer myself with various keyword searches, on the DL Pass site, etc. I could not. If one purchases an Annual Pass through the mail, is the effective date the day you bought it? Or the first time you use it? I have a feeling it's the former, but wanted to check. I woke up feeling panicky, like I either needed to buy the pass or our hoppers to save some moolah.
I can't be 100% certain, but I think that the pass becomes "active" the first day it's used. So, if I bought my pass today, but didn't use it until June 15, my year would start on June 15th. I would assume it has to be used within a certain time period, though. Again, not 100% certain on this, but that's my understanding. - Spoonful_O_Sugar

Okay, sounds good. I was reading a few other forums (sorry, MouseWait!) and that seems to be the consensus. It sounds like I would have to activate it before the end of the year. - PeachKay

Last December when we purchased it worked as such. The passes could be purchased prior, but could only be used on a non-blackout day. The first day you used them would be your first date. If you purchase them the same day, you can go regardless of blackout status. - Squirtortue

It's the first day you use them, I got one for Christmas (years ago) and didn't use it till June, my renewal date is June. Regular tickets are different I believe. - Pixarprincess
