I've already been saving for our October trip. I am self employed and I pay myself the same amount every two weeks. Sometimes I cheat, though, so no more of that...less online shopping for things like plush Peter Pans. π Now that I see that hoppers are going up, too, it is still a savings to get a pass for two trips per year. It's just crazy expensive. - PeachKay 310.8 #572 9:49PM
Haha PK good old Peter pan making a comeback from yesterday - Villescas8 592.9 #190 9:51PM
And churro, sorry brown paper towels are a little too rough - Villescas8 592.9 #190 9:52PM
keep folding. it'll soften it. or you COULD make the recycled type from old rags. wash, rinse, repeat. saw a lady on TLC do this. Plz use dark fabric - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint 1837.6 #43 9:58PM
True I forgot about the crumple up technique π - Villescas8 592.9 #190 10:02PM
Villeacas, positively! π
You know, the DL toilet paper is so rough, the paper towels won't be that bad! - PeachKay 310.8 #572 10:05PM
Sorry, I tried so hard to spell it right...Villescas!! Stupid iPhone. - PeachKay 310.8 #572 10:08PM
It's ok PeachKay, as HMACIF said, V8 is cool - Villescas8 592.9 #190 10:16PM
((hits head)) I could have had a V8! π - PeachKay 310.8 #572 10:19PM
Haha, yeah and I hate the v8 drink, but the nickname stuck - Villescas8 592.9 #190 10:23PM
I hate it, too! Unless it is just tomato juice. With vodka. And Tabasco and a stick of celery. :) - PeachKay 310.8 #572 10:27PM
Lol, I like V8--just bought a big bottle from Trader Joe's today ππ - Spoonful_O_Sugar 439.0 #289 10:30PM

My son is going to India in three weeks, and they do not use toilet paper - they use their left hand. So it is a big no-no to eat (or shake hands, etc) with your left hand. - PrincessKristin 776.9 #125 11:09PM
oh dear. * note to self...that is ICK* sooo, what if you are lefty?? - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint 1837.6 #43 7:10PM
LOL!! I've got until October so... I have been meaning to eat out less and not have as much Starbucks (did you hear they're opening one at DCA?!?!), so that might help. - Mimmy

Lol, ours expire in a few days. Sad! We really can't renew right now, and we probably won't be able to get away for any length of time this sunmer, so we're just going to save what we can over the summer and renew in the fall. - Spoonful_O_Sugar 439.0 #289 9:39PM
WHAT?!?? A Starbucks in DCA??!? How come I haven't heard about this?? - DisneyFanZoe 1099.6 #74 11:33AM
I will probably cut back on my Starbucks π and other frivolous purchases in my daily life. During our trips, we will be buying way less souvenirs (aka vinylmations) and expensive meals and drinks; we might even be driving our smaller, less comfortable and less reliable π± (but more fuel efficient) car to get there, and we will definitely be lowering the standards on our hotels. Super 8, here we come! We haven't used our passes much this year, compared to previous years, but we did visit enough to make them worthwhile. I love DL, and I can find ways to sacrifice in order to keep my pass and know that if we are able to slip away for a weekend, we can. - Spoonful_O_Sugar

I will probably stop buying food in the parks. I'm just gonna put a feeding tube in my side, and blend up hot pockets, middle ramen (Top Ramen is to rich for my blood) and spaghetti o's. I will pre portion the concoction out of the blender and shoot it in through the tube throughout the day. - SuperCooper

But one person needs the premium for the parking - Villescas8 592.9 #190 10:01PM
Yeah, haven't decided what we're gonna do. If we're cutting back on souvenirs and food, the Premium discount won't help a great deal, anyway. We could just add parking to the Deluxe or get one Premium. Hubby says we should just suck it up and get two Premiums, lol. π - Spoonful_O_Sugar 439.0 #289 10:12PM
Cut back on eating at the parks n bring lil lunch .for us to renew next Feb it will be $5,200 for the 8 of us ugh but we will pay it - Tinky76

I'm joint the brat train and saying nothing too.... ππ - DisneyFanZoe 1099.6 #74 11:52AM
We haveΒ a Disney Visa that you earn points. We pay the balance every month and don't carry anything on it so we don't get charged interest. We are going to make even more of an effort to use it for anything and everything to bank as many points as we can. After that...Um..there is now 5 of us as my youngest turns 3 next month so it's going to cost us a ton. But, I did the math and it's still only a little less then 5 trips when you take the price of 5 1 day parkhoppers and parking for those trips. We always go more than 5 trips a year so it's worth it for me and my sanity to renew. Thankful that I could renew today for next year so we don't ave to worry about it until next year. - Autoalice

π this is why I'm not worried about it. Plus I think of monthly payments as a one day ticket each month. That ticket is still less then an actual ticket each. Plus I average 4 trips a month. - KissDclown 1088.4 #77 10:21PM
Yeah, I think for the payment plan, it's only another $40 per month for me and my husband. We can easily do that. I need to eat out less, anyway, lol. - Spoonful_O_Sugar 439.0 #289 10:28PM
The thing that bothers me is the percentage increase. If you showed up at the gas station tomorrow and prices were 30% higher, you'd be pretty ticked. In fact, I can't think of anything that increases that much all at once. - Mimmy 1405.6 #56 10:34PM
I wish they would let non-California residents do the payment plan. π’ - PeachKay 310.8 #572 10:42PM
If i continue to travel down 4 times a year it's still cost effective for me to buy two annual passes, so lookin over stuff if I stop eating lunch out everyday and actually eat a healthy sandwhich its still doable thankfully! - madsdad
1218.5 #67 10:38PM
Yeah...we need to eat out less also but you have a good point that it will be healthier too! π - MinnieMousewife 636.1 #174 10:41PM
My lunch bill is ridiculous, it'll be nice to put it towards soemthing better! - madsdad 1218.5 #67 10:46PM
Ok nick if I send you a few bucks for lunch will you cover my AP? - Villescas8 592.9 #190 10:47PM
Ha anything for you buddy! - madsdad 1218.5 #67 10:56PM

Here are a few of my frugal tips: Buy things only on sale and use coupons. The receipt usually has how much is saved. Take that money saved and put it in the Disney jar. I saved $44 on groceries last week. I thrift shop for clothing. I walk more than I drive. I take my breakfast, lunch, and snacks to work (12 hours). Drink more filtered water, no bottled water, add a slice of lemon. No Starbucks except 1time per year(pumpkin spice latte on Halloween). Make my coffee at home. Lots more, but those are some of my best and easiest. - Sugarbuzz

great ideas--I especially like the idea of taking your grocery savings and putting it in a jar! - Spoonful_O_Sugar 439.0 #289 11:36AM
No longer feeding our three children. (ok-ok, they don't live with us) - alankeno

I'm only going to eat 10 churros a month instead of 12. That should make up for the price difference. - ScubaSteve028
