Ok,i need to hear about all the little details and secrets that are on the Haunted mansion (like the crow thing-had no idea). And does the bride have a name? Anything else? Thanks :D

Here's a link to all the info on how Pirates and Mansion are/were going to be related. Very interesting read.   http://tinyurl.com/4y65bl6 - shadowgamer  1954.3 #37 7:34AM

Originally she didn't have a name. After the mansion went through a rehab we got our current bride Constance. - lostgirl7988  541.5 #208 8:54PM
Thanks so much,i needed to know that! - theRealDisneygirlforevr  175.3 #1922 8:55PM
Sure thing! There are soooo many little things like that not only in the mansion but all over the park. - lostgirl7988  541.5 #208 8:56PM
Yes,thats what maked DL the best! I wanna learn.it all,but right now I've gotta focus on the mansion - theRealDisneygirlforevr  175.3 #1922 8:58PM
She's also the old woman sitting on the headstone in the stretching room portrait. (Hence the guys stone having a bust with a hatchet in his head) - shadowgamer  1954.3 #37 10:07PM
Thanks for that bit Shadowgamer :) - theRealDisneygirlforevr  175.3 #1922 9:20PM
What about the bullet-hole in the glass in the ballroom scene? - CM_LionGeek  340.3 #431 8:56PM
Whats the story behind that? - theRealDisneygirlforevr  175.3 #1922 8:58PM
The pane of glass in there is a special type of glass. It had to be lowered in from above and imagineers were told once it was installed it could never be replaced if it were dammaged. Everything was fine until the mid 80's when a guest thought it would be funny to bring a bb gun into the park. He fired a shot into the glass and the bb went through the first pane of glass (which was just regular glass and subsequently replaced) and got stuck in the fancy glass and cracked it. In order to cover it up it now looks like a super creepy spider in a web. - lostgirl7988  541.5 #208 8:59PM
Whoa - theRealDisneygirlforevr  175.3 #1922 9:20PM
I think I just got carpal tunnel lol - lostgirl7988  541.5 #208 9:29PM
He also fired the gun in the Grand Canyon and Adventures through Inner Space, those two could be replaced, but in order to fix the Haunted Mansion they would have to remove it with a helicopter and remove the roof. - CM_LionGeek  340.3 #431 9:20PM
The grand canyon bullet is still there. - maxinerenton  415.1 #311 9:43PM
Really? Where is it so I can try to find it next time? - CM_LionGeek  340.3 #431 9:45PM
Hopefully that moron was banned for life from all Disney parks and had to pay the damages. What a tool. - DisneyFanZoe  1096.7 #75 5:22PM
The broken singing head is Thurl Ravenscroft (a.k.a Tony the Tiger) - elmickeyman  213.7 #1435 9:26PM
rich, deep voice! - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  1798.6 #42 9:37PM
Oh yeah, I think people thought that was Walt Disney lol. - kss4tink  216.8 #1396 10:12PM
What crow thing???? - EwokLuver  73.0 #3358 9:29PM
The 4 crows on items throughout the attraction. - shadowgamer  1954.3 #37 9:46PM
Or the crypt that was going to connect Pirates and the Mansion - CM_LionGeek  340.3 #431 9:29PM
There are items from fort wilderness (tom sawyer island) in the attic. - bluefairy  627.1 #174 12:27AM
Oh, the crypt was going to be part of a walkway to the island, to save $ on operating the rafts. - bluefairy  627.1 #174 12:28AM
Pirates and Mansion were related in story before the retcon.(I'll add a link when i get home/ hence the ghost ship painting and ship weather vain). Supposedly a little boys ashes were spread on the attraction and he now haunts it, appearing as a lost little boy at the exit after closing or a single boy in a doom buggy. - shadowgamer  1954.3 #37 9:30PM
i heard a story about how Haunted Mansion, Pirates, and Tom Sawyers island are all related from the bride of HM, and the guy in the rocking chair in the beginning of Pirates! - MrLeeFromDisney  259.4 #915 9:44PM
Yes, the pirate owner was Laffyat who used the island as a base of operations. - shadowgamer  1954.3 #37 9:47PM
The guy in the rocking chair in pirates....who is he? - TrueFromOzLovesDisney  312.2 #546 3:32AM
I don't know if this is still true, but when they change to the Holiday version, nothing is removed from the original. Everything is just placed over or on top of the existing stuff. And Holiday is the only time you can see 'behind the curtain' in the dining room scene. It reveals a library with Zero in it. - BlueberryCrusader  650.7 #161 9:31PM
idk if that can be totally true. as you 'fall' out the window, there's the old man and the hungry dog. That is where Jack is. can't recall if Zero is with him πŸ‘»πŸ‘» - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  1798.6 #42 9:39PM
The curtain was closed before the holiday concept. During the creation the team wondered what was behind it so they created a scene. And yes it is Jack and Zero at the entrance of the cemetery. And according to the NBC deluxe version, it's an overlay. - BlueberryCrusader  650.7 #161 9:50PM
i can't picture where that curtain is. oh the ✨magic✨ - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  1798.6 #42 9:54PM
There was also originally a plan to make a resturaunt inside the attraction like Blue Bayou. - shadowgamer  1954.3 #37 9:39PM
Or a ripley's believe it or not type exhibit. - bluefairy  627.1 #174 5:11PM
The organ in the Ballroom scene is Captain Nemo's from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea - shadowgamer  1954.3 #37 9:48PM
Cool! - theRealDisneygirlforevr  175.3 #1922 9:32PM
What's the story behind the crow? - geoduck  11.9 #6247 9:53PM
From what I've heard, the crow is in every scene the narrator speaks. The crow was originally the narrator for the ride. - Guybrush  108.6 #2926 10:02PM
Crows are omens of tragedy and watchers of the dead. - shadowgamer  1954.3 #37 10:03PM
Some of THe ghosts that haunt the mansion are passed family members of cast members that work at the mansion and some imagineers if you remove the plates on the table in The ballroom the pictures of the now ghosts are under them - cmdlgurl  255.5 #951 10:05PM
I heard that Constance was the wife of a sea capt. Who turned out to be a pirate? He sailed out of the bayou to the Caribbean. When constance heard what he was really doing, she made him "walk the plank" so to speak..... - dangerdude  15.2 #5646 10:11PM
Thanks guys,thats super helpful! - theRealDisneygirlforevr  175.3 #1922 10:16AM
Hey what about the hat ghost that was originally soppose to be where the bride was but when the ride opened up he vanished - vkyguzman  19.0 #5162 10:38PM
Click on my name. I have a picture of Hat Box Ghost in MyMW page. There is also a link by BaseballMickey to an awesome video about old Hattie - elmickeyman  213.7 #1435 11:19PM
His face is still in the ride, though. You can see pictures of him in the hallway. There's a statue of him that they are selling in the shop on main street. - bluefairy  627.1 #174 5:12PM
The voice Madame Leota (the head in the floating crystal ball) is Eleanor Audley...a.k.a Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. - elmickeyman  213.7 #1435 11:24PM
The updated voice for Leota during Haunted Mansion Holiday is also the voice of the evil queen in Fantasmic. - lostgirl7988  541.5 #208 11:52PM
The model is leota toombs, imagineer, and her daughter, Kim irvine, also an imagineer, is the model for the NBC version. - bluefairy  627.1 #174 5:13PM
Ok I'm too chicken to hear about this lol !! I can't read πŸ’€ - jmza4  239.1 #31532 1:06AM
Lol - theRealDisneygirlforevr  175.3 #1922 7:24PM
Wow, I didn't know none of this. Very interesting stuff - Addiction  55.3 #3649 2:15AM
Wow. I've been reading the article from the link and it's very entertaining! - madsdad  1124.7 #73 7:35PM
VERY interesting - rickandyvonne  11.2 #6423 9:37PM
I remember reading somewhere that the guy hanging from the rafters in the stretching room is supposed to be the body of the Ghost Host narrating the attraction. "There's always my way" meaning he hung himself to try to escape? Sounds gruesome but is there any truth to that story? - Jillian  765.4 #129 9:51PM
I'm guessing thats true, because he DOES say 'Theres always my way' so my guess is yes, thats him - theRealDisneygirlforevr  175.3 #1922 11:25AM
I have heard the same, but I think uppity did a backstage tour at WDW and told me something about the rope breaking and that's why you hear the scream and breaking glass. I do know that if you wait until the stretching room (at WDW) is empty, you will hear ghostly whispers. 😳 - bluefairy  627.1 #174 11:41AM
I heard that you can see a projection of the Hatbox ghost's face in madame Leotas room,on the wall. In fact,my Dad said he saw it last time we rode - theRealDisneygirlforevr  175.3 #1922 10:28AM
There IS a projection, but it's kinda hard to tell what it is exactly. - bluefairy  627.1 #174 11:41AM
Jay's tombstone! There is a small tombstone in the graveyard scene with the name JAY and his occupation (doctor, lawyer?). It's the only one I've ever seen with an actual name on it. Some guy supposedly won this honor in an auction or something. - bluefairy  627.1 #174 11:44AM
Awesome! - theRealDisneygirlforevr  175.3 #1922 4:40PM
Yes, Disney put up the chance to have your name in the mansion and the money went to The Boys and Girls Club. Info is about 3/4 the way down here http://tinyurl.com/6s92ta2 - shadowgamer  1954.3 #37 4:55PM
