This might be an odd question, but I'd like to get feedback from people who I know care about what goes in their bodies. Does anyone have any experience with homeopathic or all-natural allergy relief? I have terrible hay fever this year, and on a few days, it's been really hard to exercise and go to work. Claritin makes me extremely anxious and Benedryl and Zyrtec put me to sleep, lol. Allegra did absolutely nothing to help this year. I am at my wits end! Any feedback would help! I know that asking for medical advice online isn't the best idea--I'm just looking to hear about people's experiences, if anyone has any. Thanks! 😊

I use NeilMed Sinus Rince every morning and it helpsΒ SO much.Β  It takes some getting used to but if you use it consistantly you will see (feel) the difference. you can get it at WalMart or any drug store.Β  Β  www.neilmed.com - MXPrincess399  482.1 #244 2:47PM
Just make sure to use distilled water, unless it is pre packaged saline. My co-worker and his wife used this (and tap water). Both got nasty sinus and ear infections. - Sugarbuzz  44.3 #3868 6:01PM
Ok--thank you both! This is helpful! - Spoonful_O_Sugar  435.8 #283 7:52PM
Yes. I think you can use cooled, boiled water too, just make sure to read the directions. - MXPrincess399  482.1 #244 6:49PM
I do think the cooled boiled water works. I think it has to be boiled for so many minutes. Can't remember how long though. I forgot about that, or just a little lazy. - Sugarbuzz  44.3 #3868 11:39PM
Have you tried local natural honey? Probably too late for right now but it is supposed to build up immunities to local pollin. - sewgirl  340.5 #427 8:21PM
I tried it last year, but it didn't really work. I might not have started early enough? - Spoonful_O_Sugar  435.8 #283 8:35PM
I'm of no help! I take Zyrtec 3 days a week and live in a fog all 3 of them! - Squirtortue  311.1 #551 9:37PM
Lol, isn't it awful! There must be a better way! - Spoonful_O_Sugar  435.8 #283 7:03AM
I have hay fever as long as I can remember and experienced the exact same thing with every allergy drug you mentioned. The only thing that works for me is the original Sudafed (although I never spend money on the brand name - I always go for the cheaper, store version).  When I say "original" I mean the version that they now keep behind the counter and you have to show ID in order to buy it.  I remember when Longs put their brand on sale for $1.99 a box, I'd buy like 5 at a time.  Now if you do that, they think you're a meth dealer!  Still the best IMO - msdizmaui  518.6 #224 10:59PM
I might just try Sudafed for when they're really bad. It gives me anxiety if I take it too much, but it does work! - Spoonful_O_Sugar  435.8 #283 7:04AM
Sorry I can't help with this SOS!.. Hope you find some relief - Twinklelashes  144.3 #2374 7:13AM

We use the Kirkland brand non drowsy AllerClear pills. They are 10mg of Loratadine and work for 24 hours. :) - Darlingwendi  624.5 #175 1:42PM
Thank you, but I had a bad reaction to loratadine (major anxiety problems), so I can't take it anymore :( - Spoonful_O_Sugar  435.8 #283 5:33PM
I've tried the local honey thing, it worked well for me. It didn't take all of the allergies away, but it was an improvement to taking 1-8 pills a day. - Mrs.mouse  420.0 #306 6:57PM
Thanks! If you dont mind, could you tell me a little more? I tried local honey last year and it didn't help, but I think I started taking it late? How early do you need to start and how much do you take per day? - Spoonful_O_Sugar  435.8 #283 8:45PM
They say you need several tbs a day, take it straight. I always buy local honey. I started swapping it for sugar as I could in recipes. I didn't straight eat it. For some it could be necessary to follow the directions. For me I didn't. I started around February. Hope it helps - Mrs.mouse  420.0 #306 2:05PM
I'll try this next year--probably add it to tea. Thank you for the feedback! - Spoonful_O_Sugar  435.8 #283 3:32PM
Hi! This may sound weird but I tried juicing for 2 weeks and it really helped my body to detoxify You can check out the website: http://www.jointhereboot.com/index.php?lang=en - rickandyvonne  11.1 #6425 9:18AM
Thank you--this doesn't sound weird at all. It makes sense to rid your body of toxins. I usually just make a green monster in the morning, so I haven't juiced for any length of time. I'll look into it more. - Spoonful_O_Sugar  435.8 #283 10:09AM
My kids pediatrician recommended local honey as well, seemed to have worked for them this year. I was also told that each year you have to use a different allergy medicine (zyrtec, allegra etc) or they don't work, I haven't experienced trying this but the person who told me says it's true. - disneymommy0910  233.9 #1183 3:20PM
Local honey helps! And it's yummy! - adventurerEnDisneylandia {AED}  263.9 #878 11:17AM
The sinus rinse does help, the instructions come with the pot on how to use distilled vs boiled water. I have to admit, the first few times I used it, I freaked out, it feels really weird, but I got used to it. I also found a homeopathic nasal spray, but my son took it to school with him. Check out whole foods if youre near one! - tinkerbella728  175.5 #1915 11:47AM
