So, this is a total bummer, but... I am doing Weight Watchers right now, working really hard at it, and having success with losing some weight. I will be on vacation, visiting the parks for four days later this month, and I really don't want to screw up an backtrack in my progress. Are there any other MWers also doing WW? If so, any tips for managing a vacation and all of the yummy Disney goodies that i don't think I will be able o resist?
you should check out the chub 33 section of mw!! a lot of us are on WW. I just joined about a month ago and have found eating at the park fairly easy. There are a lot of no point options at the fruit carts and you are able to get vegetable skewars at bengal bbq, and for actual meals i'll try to get a salad or if i do get a sandwich i'll take off the top bread. some points i've found/calculated, churro is 6 pts, dole whip is 1pt, float is 3. - JenInWonderland

the rest of my post got cut off...but i was saying to wear a pedometer to get your activity points...i walked 11.5 miles 10 hours at dl and got 12 activity points! - JenInWonderland 1025.1 #86 6:02PM
How do I get into this forum? I am so confused on chub33! - Minnis2Society 360.0 #388 6:33PM
Dole whip is only 1 point!?!? That's great! More of them. - jjdq 326.7 #489 11:20PM
Be careful with a pedometer. Turn it off on rides. Some rides (like Indy) could add lots of steps due to the bumpiness. Could add up to a false mileage. - LilSterner 2655.9 #17 7:34PM
I'd bring snacks that you eat throughout the day, you'll be least likely to be tempted if you stay full, and drink lots of water. A low sodium beef jerky is what I like to snack on! - madsdad

I thought you whip out a protein pack when ya feel a snack crave approaching? - donnievegas 1127.5 #72 5:59PM
it's like a protein pack! And I make my own too. :) - madsdad 1120.1 #73 6:00PM
Ok I can match ya this time Mr.Homemaker, I make some mean beef jerkey! - donnievegas 1127.5 #72 6:06PM

My dad makes jerky--it's so good without all the salt! He's done beef, salmon, and I think, venison! - Spoonful_O_Sugar 435.8 #283 6:57PM
Ooooh, homemade venison jerky is the best. - LittleAprilShowers 471.0 #255 8:27PM
I'm with you, homemade venison is the best! The only jerky my son will eat is my dads lol. So you know it must be good! - tigntink 179.3 #1870 8:34PM
Come check out Chub33. Lots of people doing WW that could offer some tips. - MXPrincess399

Yes--there are several MWers on WW who discuss the program in the Chub33 forum! 😃 - Spoonful_O_Sugar 435.8 #283 6:13PM
Hi there! Please feel free to post this also in chubb 33. It is a separate land where a bunch of us folks are healthy minded a like. I myself am on WW ( okay well I wont lie, I have slacked bad) BUT, I know the challenge of WW can be on vacation. Try to be smart about it all, there are fruit stands that have fresh fruit and pickles... our 0 point wonders. At the pizza port there are yogurt granola parfait, there is a dole whip, there is a pretzel too for that little yum! Where a pedometer and get your activity points in, you walk to much at Disneyland. Bring a water bottle and keep it full. If you can bring string cheese, some WW snacks. you name it. For dinner ask the waitress to work with you. And you know what us some of those weekly points and enjoy a churro or a piece of dark chocolate. You can do it:) - BooEve123

If you get a salad ditch the dressing. Also like they taught us. Save half of your food for later or share it. I love the veggy gumbo and its probably half of my points allowance. Instead of eating the whole thing or dying bc I want it, I share it with my kid and I fill up with an apple.

I ate the good, the bad, and the ugly at DL. I still lost 6 lbs. I read the average guest walks 10 miles a day. - Wizard

When I was doing weight watchers and would go to dl I maintained my weight because we walk so much. But we go in the morning to dl and do not leave until closing. - Disneymother

I would make a goal for myself. If I am a good girl I will treat myself to _____ after _____ amount of time. I personally can not go cold turkey at a place like DL but I can keep on track with a little reward here and there :) - SteamboatMinnie

I started WW a couple months ago. Thanks for all your input, going to the park is hardest for me to stay on track. Although, I always carry water with me now and don't drink sodas 😊 - aprilinjune4

Wow! Thanks everyone for the help. I will check out chub33 and definitely get a pedimeter! Wow, 10 miles a day is crazy! Unfortunately, I have the added obstacle of celiac disease and must eat gluten free as well. I am certainly no stranger to brining my own food wherever I go! - Echoingecho

I have two thoughts on this. One, it takes your body three days to notice a change in your habits so if you go enjoy your trip and come home and go strict back on your plan you will be fine. With that said, if you aren't far enough along, three days can take you out of your routine making it harder to get back to basics. If that is where you are at, just remember to count your points, eat smart and for the love don't beat yourself up. The biggest mistake you can make is to self destruct. Enjoy your trip and stay mentally strong so that no matter what you are right back on track. - DlandDude
