Hi I am new and I just thought I would take a moment to say hello. I’ve been playing the trivia on Facebook and am enjoying it immensely. I really enjoy seeing everyone’s photos of Disneyland. It makes me feel like I am there again and has proven a wonderful way to avoid studying. I have a question though for all you seasoned Disneyland adventurers. My best friend, my brother, and I are planning a trip to DL for next year and we were told that they best time for us to go would be some time in February or March. We want to go after the holidays, but before the hustle and bustle of summer. My brother has only ever been at Christmas time and when I went the last time it was while a lot of rides were down to decorate for Halloween and therefore neither of us have ever gotten to ride Haunted Mansion without the Nightmare Before Christmas theme (which is awesome), but we want to experience the original ride. So, we want to go after everything is de-holidayed. We are all from Washington so a little chill or rain does not bother us, in fact it may be better than the near 100 degrees I experienced last time I was there. I guess I am just looking for any advice as we plan our trip and some affirmation that this would be the best time for us to go. Thank you all for your help and making this app so enjoyable. I am looking forward to being able to read and post more on here so I can bring the feeling of Disney home to me. :)
The crowds should die down in Jan, after school is back in. Try going the last week in Jan, or first week in Feb. You should have light crowds, with most rides back up. Although it was near 90 in Jan when I went, and 80s and busy when I went in Feb.... All depends on the weather. Hope that helps some! 😊 - DisneyFanZoe

thank you so much! That does help! warm weather isn't bad we just don't want to be there in the middle of summer. :) - ChelseaBug 160.9 #2140 11:41AM
You're very welcome! And no...middle of summer, I think will be tough. Too warm and too crowded. 😊 :) - DisneyFanZoe 1096.7 #75 1:17PM
February and early March are great times to go - weather is usually mild (warm during the day but cool at night). Crowds are fairly light, unless it's a holiday weekend. Don't forget to check for ride closures, though, because during off season your favorite ride may be closed. By the way, I am from Southwest Washington! Yay for fellow Washingtonians! We aren't planning on any holidays so that's good. We are worried about ride closures so we will be religiously checking their website as we make our plans. - ChelseaBug 160.9 #2140 9:37AM
What DFZ said. And also be aware that during the "off season" parks hours are shorter and some rides may be down for refurb. So check the Disneyland website periodically for that. - iFramedRogerRabbit

Yeah we are planning to go for a full week so that way shorter hours wont get rid of too much fun time. also my best friend and I are over 21 so we want to have a few free night to go out for some fun. teehee ;)
Thanks for the tip on checking the website for closures! Do you know how early they post ride closures? - ChelseaBug 160.9 #2140 9:27AM
Welcome. Hope you go in early February - Tealtownfan

Hi there and welcome!! I agree with late January or anytime in February and maybe the first week of march. March is when all the spring breakers are out and it gets packed. - GodOfWine

I didn't think about Spring Break! Thank you for the reminder of that! We will definitely want to avoid that. - ChelseaBug 160.9 #2140 1:05PM
I went during the last Spring Break and it wasn't that packed. It seemed normal to me. I know LAUSD and surrounding districts have different times off so Spring break is spread out in March/April. - MrFantasia2000JP 23.5 #4766 1:21PM
Well thank you for the info! If we did go in March it would probably be within the first two weeks. We were thinking within the last 2 weeks of Feb and the first 2 weeks of Mar - ChelseaBug 160.9 #2140 2:01PM
We usually go the 2nd week of March. Great weather and not too crowded. :-) - PrincessDuckie
