Would you visit DL for the first time during Sept/Oct for Halloween, Nov/Dec for Christmas, or late summer to experience it "normally", meaning not decorated in season, etc.? We did DW last year in Oct and loved it, so first instinct was to go to DL the same time of year, but now, just can't decide. Input please! :)
That's so hard to choose. I'd say either Halloween because the Halloween Screams fireworks are one of my favorites or Chrisrmas because there's nothing more magical than seeing it snow on Main Street for the first time. - Nicole

I would say christmas because you don't have to buy another ticket for the halloween party - ChloesDadTim 32.6 #4256 8:42AM
I love both Halloween and Christmas equally so that's a tough call Probably a slight edge to Christmas due to how magical it is and the Santa at the grandc is amazing. I would def choose either over late summer! - JNewie

Thank you guys!! I was leaning towards Christmas... that being said, when are the lowest crowds at that time of year (going for 6 days, coming from AR), and what's the weather like then? - mrsincredible

We went the week after. Thanksgiving and were pleasantly surprised by the low crowd levels 😊 - Mermaidmommy 32.8 #4251 7:13PM
The earlier in the Christmas season the better. I like to go within the first two weeks of Dec. Once schools are out it's crazy for a month straight. Weather is usually on the nice side - JNewie 226.4 #1286 7:20PM
Xmas season starts like mid november so I would say try to go the last weekend of November! - MagicalLand 378.4 #358 8:24PM
Both are great, but Halloween is great and less busy if you go in September. - Pudgeman

Haha, I was afraid of that! Guess you can't go wrong either way, we love Halloween, too. Crowds being light is a definite plus. - mrsincredible 403.9 #5 7:15PM
Christmas! The lightest crowd would probably be the week after New Year when the decorations are still up. - MissAmericaSings

My favorite seasons in DL are both Halloween and December.. I love Halloween because of Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, the costumes characters wear, all the villians come out, and Mickeys Halloween Party (which is a separate admission).. as for Xmas, the decorations are beautiful, u get the snow on the castle and snow along main street... nothing beats that!!! - MagicalLand

If it were for the first time December because that is when my son's b-day is. This year we are doing it different, we will be there in Oct. I have never seen the Halloween decor. - Lelundrial

I would recommend going during November and December. I just love seeing all the Christmassy festive lights and the weather is not too bad. However, this year I web during 2nd week of January and it was great. Lines were short and we had. Lot of time doing a lot I the rides and attractions. - kingtritonkev

October is great bcs the crowds are lighter. That's good for a first time visit. But after that there's just nothing like Christmas in the park! - MelodyMouse

My first visit was early December so all the Christmas themes were out and it was fabulous. Next visit ( and first for hubby) was end of July busy but loved being in the Park till after 1am as they extended the hours. Went back again with my teenage kids End of November/ early December and park wasn't too busy so not too many waits for rides. Now planning a trip with hubby again and another couple who are great friends for October this year- one of them went to Disney years ago ( Pre DCA) the other has never been Can't wait am counting down the days! - anniemc

You don't have to go during the summer to experience the park "normally". The park is normal from Jan to Oct. I love the park at all times. - Jimineycricket

Halloween is my favorite time to go whether we trick or treat or not. The decorations are amazing, the weather is great and the crowds aren't too bad. - DoombuggyRider

Although I like the Halloween overlay I would say Christmass time. All of the decorations lights etc just makes the park more magical. - mike714

If you have never been at Christmas. That would be the best IMO. It's beautiful at Christmas. The snow is great. Haunted Mansion is really fun and so is small world. The characters are in there holiday outfits. It's my favorite time, and the kids love NBC haunted mansion! - Minnis2Society

You guys are so awesome!!! Since we have experienced DW at Halloween last year, I think we'll go to DL late November and experience the Christmas season. Though, I wished we lived closer to be able to go all year!! - mrsincredible
