Hello MW family, I need some advice if you can. I'm debating when to go Disneyland during the summer months, late May through July. I will be departing for Veterinary school and want to make one last visit to DL before I go and taking my girlfriend for her pseudo first time. I always avoided the summer months because of the weather and the crowds. I was planning to take her in June, but her birthday falls on the same day that Cars land is supposively opening. So I'm just hoping to ask veteran MWers on their experience of going to Disneyland in June, how's the weather going to be, the crowds and etc. I'm already getting heat from my family of wasting money on a DL trip, which is true, but my gf and I have found ways to save money and been setting aside funds for this trip. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like a plan!! - makoto84 230.3 #1267 11:11AM
I always find it amusing when people consider it "wasting money" to go on a trip to Disneyland...why is it different than spending money on any other vacation? In any event, yes, it will be busy, but you should go and enjoy yourselves! Don't worry about what others think if it will make you happy! :) - BreadAndButterfly

Summer months are usually busy. But if you stay several days, as opposed to one day, you won't feel as if you have to see everything in one day. You can enjoy the resort over a few days, utilizing fast passes, seeing shows, etc. You can enjoy DL even during crowded times. Hope this helps. :o) - MomWithAJuiceBoxBuzz

It does and I think we are going to visit the park memorial weekend, Thursday and Friday. - makoto84 230.3 #1267 11:06AM
Update, we are planning to go on memorial weekend, leaving the bay area on Wednesday night, stay at her sister's place and drive to the park the next day. Debating whether to visit DL on a Thursday or Friday? Any suggestions? We were going to do a 3 day park hopper but my gf is fine visiting a park each day, which will help out cut the expenses as well. But it seems its going to happen so we're excited!! - makoto84

Right on! I'm assuming they will do fireworks on that day or save it more for Friday and the weekend? - makoto84 230.3 #1267 11:13AM
I would definitely double check the schedule of events...I'm not sure when "summer" hours officially begin when they have fireworks every night.. - toph 2406.7 #26 11:16AM
Disney's webpage has all the major entertaiment scheduled throughout May. They'll have the show times of parades and fireworks. - GoofyMom77 251.7 #1019 11:17AM
We're going the 1st week of June M-F. I was concerned about crowds and weather, too. Becasue Carsland isn't opening till the 15th and we're not going on weekends, the crowds won't be as bad. Another disney help website has a forcast crowd calender. They have it predicted 2-5 out of 10 for all the days we'll be there.
As for memorial day weekend, expect crowds. Thursday will be lighter than Friday. - GoofyMom77

Last year I went at the beginning of June and August. August was rough. Crowds and heat got to me but I kept my patience for my lil guys bday celebration. June was not to bad. This year I would think it will be more crowded with Cars land opening. - vegasbrat

Hot and crowded in June...the last four summers Saturdays were pretty light...all passes except Premium are blocked out. - toph
