I have a question for all you WW ladies...I love the SBD because it works for me, but my employee at work thinks that I might not do my "binge weeks/months" if I were on WW and was able to "reward" myself with goodies (based on leftover points). What do you think? I'm definitely an "all or nothing" dieter, so I'm thinking it might not matter, but she thinks the point system will keep me in line. I don't know...since it allows me to eat stuff I binge on...
I forgot another question... can you do the plan online? I am SO not into meetings... - msdizmaui

Yes, they have an online option :) - Spoonful_O_Sugar 439.2 #288 2:49PM
Before i got pregnant I did the online only program and was doing really well with it. I was down 20lbs since January and never felt like I was "dieting". It really comes down to healthy choices and portions but on those days you go out, or want something that's no ideal you are able to budget for it. It also is motivation to stay on track all day and keep your points low if you know you are going out to dinner, etc. DM me if you ever have any questions! I know as soon as I have my baby I will be signing back up ASAP! It works wells for me and I try to share info about it to anyone interested. - LisaMouse7531 409.5 #325 7:43AM
I don't know anything about WW, but can you combine the two plans? - Mrs.mouse

(Note: I'm saying all of this with support and love :) )
I was thinking the same thing as your coworker, lol. In order to beat the binging issue, I think a change in perspective is necessary: WW is not a diet, it's a healthy lifestyle. Once you reach your goal weight, you're allowed more points, but you're always conscious of your food intake. Lasting weight loss, statistically, isn't related to cutting certain foods out completely--that only works for a small percentage of people for the long-term. It's about moderation for most people. I think you can totally beat the binging cycle with WW, but it will require you to look at food differently than you have on SB and other diet plans :). Good luck with whatever road you take! I'm here for ya! - Spoonful_O_Sugar

^^^what she said. Depriving yourself of certain foods can play a huge part in the binge cycle. Once at a retreat I went to, the speaker, who was also. A healthy lifestyle coach, had us do this exercise. She said for us to take a deep breath and hold it until she told us to start breathing again. She then talked and talked for what seemed like forever! When she finally said " ok breathe" we all sucked in huge breaths of air. She explained that this is what happens when we "diet"...when we hold out and deprive ourselves...eventually our willpower stalls out and we stuff ourselves with whatever we've been craving...just like the way we sucked in air when we deprived ourselves of breathing. It was a powerful demonstration for me. Of course, there's also the emotional aspect of binging to deal with. But stopping the diet roller coaster is a huge piece of the answer to being free from it. Yes, you can do the online WW but I highly recommend the meetings. I didn't think I would like the meetings at all but they help me do much! Either way that you choose, WW is a great plan. Thanks SoS... and I so love that you added the disclaimer! You're the best! - msdizmaui 521.5 #226 12:55AM
And thank you too Vickie! I seriously need some hugs right now, so I'll glady accept cyber hugs (my dog is getting tired of my hugging him....) - msdizmaui 521.5 #226 12:57AM
Glad I could help! Good luck! - Spoonful_O_Sugar 439.2 #288 6:56AM
So... it's unanimous. Hard to argue with that! I'm definitely going to take a serious look at it. I think what scared me in the past was the whole point thing, but like someone else (Gia?) just posted about, that was a long time ago and my understanding is that it's easier now (the thing that got me on SBD was that it's fairly simple - you eat what's on the list, and avoid what isn't). I've heard only good things about WW all my life, so I guess it's time for me to join up! I've had a horrible week (too many life decisions are on me right now... I actually have a bank soliciting me for a Branch Manager position, but I just don't know which way to go - so, of course I've been eating!). Looking into WW will give me something positive to focus on! Thanks everyone! Now if you could just all give me job advice..... :) - msdizmaui

The bank branch manager sounds like an amazing opportunity, however if you still have the stress and chaos in your personal life it may be hard to fully devote yourself to a new job. Don't let that stop you for perusing a job that is best for you in the long run. - Mrs.mouse 426.1 #304 6:37AM
Mrs.mouse...I decided to stay with Sprint. I gave it sooo much thought - too much! It's a small bank with only a few employees (and hardly any customers). I think I would go out of my mind. Plus, the money would basically come from commissions on mortgages (I used to be a really sucessful loan officer, but I really don't want to have to work that hard anymore) Plus, Sprint is a couple of blocks from my house AND I can transfer to the mainland if I ever need to to be closer to my Mom. I had to laugh at my son... he told me to stay with Sprint because all my employees will keep me younger...and he gets the cheap account from me!). - msdizmaui 521.5 #226 1:57AM
